CONTENT STANDARD:
The learners have an understanding of imagery, diction, figures of speech, and variations on
language
PERFORMANCE STANDARD:
The learners shall be able to produce short paragraphs or vignettes using imagery, diction,
figures of speech, and specific experiences

1. Identify strategies in using imagery in writing
2. Recognize imagery as an effective language tool in creative writing
3. Use imagery in writing

III. PROCEDURE:
A. Preliminaries(10 minutes)
1. Prayer
2. Checking of Attendance
3. Recall of previous lesson
B. Activity 1:
1. Students close their eyes as descriptions of a scene is being narrated by the teacher.
3. Instruct the students that the next part of the activity is to write their responses in 2-3
sentences.
4. Pair each students to share their responses and ask for some students to share it to the
class.
C. ANALYSIS:
Guide Questions ( 10 minutes)
D. ABSTRACTION:
(15 minutes)
1. Discussion of Imagery
2. Discussion of strategies in writing with imagery
a. Brainstorm on a subject
b. List words for all 5 senses
c. Tie descriptions
d. Avoid being literal
e. Read other resource materials
E. APPLICATION:
Integrate! ( 10 minutes)
F. ASSESSMENT:
Think of or revisit your favorite movie. Narrate your favorite scene using imagery
with at least 3-5 sentences. Write the narrative in a clean sheet of paper.
