For my first question I wanted to find out which

factor of mise-en-scene is most effective in

symbolising hidden meaning. The answers
were almost evenly distributed with props as
the majority vote then shot framing, set design,
lighting/colour and with costume with least
votes. After analysing these answers I have
chosen to include all of these different factors
of mise-en-scene to portray hidden meaning.

For this question I asked if my target audience

would prefer to have a liner structure or a
fractured structure for my narrative. I wanted to
find this out so I can be certain of how I should
order the events of my plot, so that it would be
more entertaining for the viewer. The majority
voted for a linear structure and after analysing
the data I figured to he events in the correct
order.

I asked in my questionnaire if music can

aid in the tension of a scene. Over 80% of
respondents agreed that the score of a film
can assist in the tension of a scene, but
13.3% believe it doesn’t. Post-examination
I have determined that I am going to use a
dramatic score in some scenes to increase
the suspense but will not depend on it
completely.

I wanted to know if I should have an open or

closed ending for my short film so I asked if my
target audience which they would find more
interesting. 66.7% said they preferred a closed
ending and a third said the find open endings
more interesting, so I have concluded that my
plot would end in the discovery of the mystery,
but would have the audience wanting to know
what happens next.

I wanted yo know if I should

enjoy a reference to a popular
film as they are usually enjoyed
by film fanatics, the majority of
participants, 93.3% said they
would enjoy a reference and the
rest said they would not.
This question links with the previous, I
wanted to find out if I should include a
reference to a contemporary or classic
film more. 76.7% said they prefer
contemporary films and 23.3% said
they enjoy classic films more. I decided
to include two film references, one
contemporary and one classic.

I asked in my questionnaire where my target

audience consumes film entertainment. The
answers varied, portable devices took the lead
then cinema, streaming services and television
programmes and exhibitions coming last. With
this information I now know where I am going
to distribute and present my final project,
online and on social media where I can reach
my target audience.

For my final question I wanted to know where my

peers drew create inspiration from, to aid me in my
own secondary research. 40% said they draw
inspiration from their environment and 36.7% stated
they get inspiration from other content creators.
10% said they get inspiration from their dreams and
13.3% said they try to be innovative and original. As
the answers are pretty varied I can agree that I will
get inspiration from other creators, my environment
and even my sub-conscious, whilst trying to feature
my own film-making style.
