(TO BE KEPT READY PRIOR TO STARTING OF LIFT INSTALLATION) The Electrical Network type must be TN-S or TN-C-S or TT as per Indian Electricity Rules.
A GENERAL
It should not be TN-C & IT. In case of TN-S or TN-C-S network MCB type-C is to be used for Main Power supply.

1 Storage room of area 35 sq.mt. per lift with weather protection, locking arrangement, provision of single phase light & power plug of 15 Amp. capacity.
Note "B" - REFER 3.1 POINT FOR LENGTH OF SUPPLY CABLE
Storage room must be within the radius of 10M from erection site. It must be kept ready before arrival of material at site & will remain in possession of installation
2.5 mm2, if cable is max, 80 m, 4.0 mm2, if cable is max,  128 m

2 HEAD ROOM REFER 3.4 POINT FOR RCBO ELCB +MCB RATING

3 POWER & LIGHTING CIRCUITS AND SWITCHES
3.1 REFER THE NOTE "A" Note "C" - For point 3.4
For TN-S or TN-C-S type network 4 pole MCB type-C of capacity (Refer the table) to be connected
In case of TT network or Generator Power Supply with TT network or only Generator Power Supply, RCBO type-B (Selective) or ELCB type-B (Selective) + MCB type-C combination is to be used for Main Power supply.

3.2 2 Nos. X 2 Pole MCB type "C" of 230V, 50Hz, Single Phase of Capacity 6A & 10A respectively (OR One 2 Pole MCB type "C" of 230V, 50Hz, Single Phase Capacity 16 A) should be provided
in the meter room. In case of MRL it should be provided above the controller inside the distribution box near the LDU floor for Car Lighting & Shaft Lighting.
3.3 Main switch should be easily accessible & lockable in OFF position by suitable means which can be operated by an authorized person.[ Lockout / Tagout facility should be provided ]
3.4 REFER THE NOTE "C"
In case of TT network or Generator Power Supply with TT network or only Generator Power Supply 4 Pole RCBO type "B" (Selective) 300mA earth leakage current of capacity (Refer the table)
or 4 Pole ELCB type "B" (Selective), 300mA earth leakage current + 4 pole MCB type "C" of capacity (Refer the table)
3.5 Two nos. Protective earthing conductor required from dedicated earth pit to earth bar in the controller in MR (Machine Room) / MRL (Machine room less). The total minimum cross section of
conductor should be 25 sqmm Copper (Cu) or Aluminium (Al). In case of Bare Earth wire (Single Stranded Conductor) of Coper (Cu) 8 SWG (2nos) to be used.

3.6 The hoistway should not contain cable or devices etc other than for the elevator. Heating equipment is allowed, excluding steam heating & high pressure water heating
provided control & adjustment devices are outside the hoistway.

3.7 Lighting Cables : The lighting cable of single phase, 230V, 50HZ, 3 wire armoured Copper (Cu) cable of size cross section 2.5 sqmm to be provided from meter room
to lift controller in case of Machine Room (MR) / Machine Room Less (MRL). C
3.8 Hoistway head room for Machine Room Less (MRL) : Lighting shall be provided with permanently installed electric lighting on the basic of at least 200lux near the drive.
Convenient 3 pin outlet 15A & 5A in the machine room to be installed for the use of power tools.
3.9 Lift Shaft lighting: The lift shaft shall be provided with permanently installed electric lighting given an intensity of illumination of 50 lux 1metre above the car roof & the pit floor, even
when all the door are closed. 230V Light points along with the bulb in the bulkhead fitting & a 3pin plug with switch in the lift shaft at a max 0.5metre distance from highest &
lower point in the shaft & intermediate points at 5.5 meter maximum spacing. Lowest board should have a parallel switch that can be operated from the bottom most floor.

4 HOIST WAY

4.1 Hoist way dimensions mentioned in layout drawings are minimum clear plumb dimensions in mm, & hence the actual wall should not encroach on these dimensions.

4.2 The inside finished face of the hoist way should fall within the limits from clear plumb hoist way dimensions as mentioned below,

For hoist way height upto 30 M = 0 to +25 mm

For hoist way height upto 60 M = 0 to +35 mm As per IS:14665


For hoist way height upto 90 M = 0 to +50 mm
4.3 The hoist way should be without any projection & recesses from shaft top slab to the pit floor.

4.4 If any projections or recesses are there, than those should be flushed & leveled on underside to an angle not less than 60° from the horizontal by means of metal plates or cement.
4.5 Service pipes, ventilation ducts, electrical conduits etc. for purpose other than lift are not allowed to run in the lift shaft.
4.6 Cutting & making pocket holes in lift shaft for grouting & fixing of shaft reduction channels & angles if hoist way walls are of brick.
4.7 Front wall at ground floor must not be constructed until all lift equipment's are set in position. For other floors please consult Schindler Installation Engineer.
4.8 All landing entrances of the lift should be closed properly & protected by suitable material till lift installation is completed.
4.9 Architrave fixing & finishing to be done after fixing of doors & door frames on all floors.
4.10 Hoist way walls to be treated & painted to minimize accumulation & circulation of dust.
4.11 Smoke window cut out of 450 x 450 mm or 1% of horizontal hoistway section (whichever is maximum) as ventilation opening shall be providedat any wall (Preferably on front wall) in overhead.

4.12 Smoke window cutout shall be covered with steel or aluminium mesh or grill. Grid of the mesh or grill should not exceed 20mm.

If the cutout is covered with louvers, they should be of wood or metal. Glass louvers are not permitted.

4.14 Finished Floor Level (FFL) marking should be provided by customer


4.15 Lift shaft should be isolated from each other by means of Galvanized Sheets or Partion Wall in case of common shaft.
