IS BEESWAX EDIBLE?
According to Hulse (2018), he reveals that beeswax won’t hurt you if you swallow it. Still, it doesn’t
provide any nutritional value/ benefits on someone. Beeswax will just pass through your system
undigested. The beeswax found in the honeycomb is 100% edible and digestible. Beeswax is made from
the natural secretions of bees, formed originally by collecting nectar from flowers. Beeswax is a
completely all natural substance straight from Mother Nature. Honeybees consume honey and pollen to
produce wax. So it only means that beeswax is edible and not poisonous if eaten. Like honey, beeswax
has antibacterial properties helping keep things clean and reducing risks of contamination. It is also
thought to have antifungal properties preventing the growth of other fungi. Overall, beeswax is non-toxic
and safe if ingested which is one of the reasons it makes an excellent lip balm to be exact.

Based on the study of Irawan(2015), he reveals that this study is based on the potential of banana
fiber in some area/ places. It’s purpose is to develop alternative product based on natural fiber
composites. Banana fiber has good potential to be developed into strong bio-composite materials, cheap,
environmentally friendly and recyclable. This study aims to produce a tensile strength of Banana Fiber
Reinforced Epoxy Composite Materials (BFRECM). Natural fibres, as reinforcement, have recently
attracted the attention of researchers because of their advantages over other established materials. They
are environmentally friendly, fully biodegradable, abundantly available, and renewable. Many
investigations have been made on the potential of the natural fibres as reinforcements for composites
and in several cases the result have shown that the natural fibre composites own good stiffness but the
composites do not reach the same level of strength as the glass fibre composite.

POTATO PLASTICS
In this research study by (Dyson, 2018), it was said that the product potato plastic is a
biodegradable material for one time use-products, and focus in fast-food industry. This product is a
biodegradable material and is made of potato starch. This only means that it will decompose to nutrients
for the soil in only two months. Potato plastic can be used for products such as straws, saltbags and
many more. Potato plastics is consist of potato starch and water. The exact amount of both ingredients
was mixed and heated together until the made fluid thickens. It is poured into molds and exposed to heat
until it becomes a dry compact piece. Since no extreme heat is needed, the molds can be made of
plastics. Dyson also said that potato starch would be suitable because he see a future possibilities to
adapt the starch after the country where the product will be sold. This because he see an ecological and
an economical benefit in using the waste that we already have instead of creating new waste.

Based on the study of (Hendriksz, 2017), she stated that banana fibre also known as musa fibre is
one of world’s strongest natural fibre. People have been making fibers from banana stems since early
13th century in some places, such as Japan. Fabrics made from banana fiber are soft and natural
sorbent. Banana fibre is now seen as a sustainable alternative to cotton and silk. However, extracting the
banana fibre from banana stem is not that easy on doing process. It is has many intensive process,
which they first transport the waste trees from various farmers in trucks, then put into extraction machine
to remove the fibers (Simpson). After that the papermaking process proceeds. The fibers are joined
together to create long threads which are then spun wet, in order to be prevented from breaking.
Afterwards, the thread will be dyed or weaved. While most companies and brands are likely prefers on
more conventional materials, banana fiber offers a sustainable alternative to those who are looking for
