The primary resource allows the ability to be able to dive deeper into Psychoanalysis.

Specifically on his idea of pleasure and pain; which is compared to the idea of stability and

instability. Further continuing the discussion, he relates it to the ideas people feel towards the

pleasure principle and how our psyche drives us toward it.

Keeley, Stuart M. “Are There Any Fallacies in the Reasoning.” Asking the Right Questions: a

Guide to Critical Thinking, by Neil M. Browne, 12th ed., PEARSON, 2018, pp. 78–79.

This book aids in identifying the specific fallacy found in the commercial. Some of the subject

matter will later be related to how the fallacy affects the overall argument that distracted

driving needs to end.

The author speaks about the many changes in society today, especially pertaining to the media.

However, she speaks about how quick access affects our psyche. Not only that, but she speaks

about how this new easy access time is allowing for quick solutions to complex ideas and

questions. This aids in providing evidence when comparing and contrasting the different songs

and their lyrics, as well as, the overall effect it has on the viewers.

This video is the advertisement that is analyzed. The video contains the information of Howard

Stein’s actual life and its effects on his daughter. As well as, it contains the unfinished story that

the platform created to show what could have been Howard’s life if he had not died from the car

collision.

This secondary source contains more simplistic verbiage of grand ideas. It aids in fully

understanding some of the concepts in Psychoanalysis. It also clearly states the difference of

ideas between Freud and Lacan which helps in distinguishing who needs to be mentioned before

being the discussion of the idea itself.
