"Dear Lenormand, for the last couple of years we – that is husband, my daughter
and son-in-law - have been looking for some ranch/farmland where we can become
a self-sustainable little community. Seems like we are having a hard time finding
that place. Please tell us how this will develop, what needs to happen, and where
are we stuck?"

Houses in grey, cards/layout in black.

I used both chaining (& knighting) to arrive at my interpretation. Chaining from the
‘House’ card (as the topic,) which was in the House of Snake, to the Snake card
which was in the House of Woman, to the Woman card etc until I arrived back at
the House card.

This was the chain I followed; demonstrated below:

I also looked at knighting. Which cards knighted the Child card? Which cards
knighted the House card? Knighting is like a chess move; 2 paces in any of the 4
directions (not diagonals) from a topic card, and 1 space at a 90º angle up, down,
left or right. Demonstrated below.

Using these methods I interpreted the cards as follows:

house>coffin>mice>sun>birds>child>man>tree>clover>house. I wonder whether

your husband (man) and daughter (child) have the same expectations, or whether
they are restricted (coffin) by tensions (mice) that could be cleared up (sun) through
communicating (birds) about the longterm security (tree) that this arrangement
offers, as it seems possible that (either your daughter or husband) is inclined to
view it as more of a temporary (clover) solution. With child being knighted by whip
(in the house of dog,) is it possible that your daughter and her husband are having
disagreements about money (fish) and the need to approach this venture with
caution/stealth (fox)? If so, the root of the misaligned expectations may lie there.

The solution (key - in the house of lily) may be to call a family (lily) meeting (birds)
to discuss and examine options (crossroad) relating to the financial investment
(crossroad in the house of bear.) Your daughter (child) knights with lily and birds
which tells me that she possibly needs this more than your husband does as lily
(family) is in the house of whip (strife & disagreement) and birds (needed
discussions) in the house of child.

Snake in the house of woman could simply mean that you will have to draw on your
wisdom to help them 'think outside the box' (coffin) as this is currently undermining
(coffin in house of mice) the situation.

Clouds next to House (and in the house of coffin) seems to reinforce that there is
grave uncertainty and doubt about this venture, implying that it may be viewed as a
'pipe dream' rather than a certainty, particularly as Stars lands in the house of
Clouds.
