Worksheet for Considering Internal Stakeholders’ Needs

1. Think of a decision you’re weighing or proposed course of action you’re considering. Write it below.

2. Who are the people in other parts of the organization who would be involved in this decision or course of
action? List all the stakeholders who would be affected by or have an interest in the outcome of the
decision.
Be sure to consider your boss, any peers, and other employees.

3. How can you learn about the potential impact of your decision or course of action on people in other parts of
your organization?
List the questions you will want to ask your stakeholders.

4. Have your consultations with others identified any underlying issues that affect multiple stakeholders? If so,
what are they?
For example, common shared concerns may include cost, time, or workload.

5. How might you shape your decision or proposed course of action to address any stakeholder concerns
that you’ve identified?
For example, would a pilot project help ease worries about the expense of a new initiative?
