TIANMEN SHAN 天門山

Historical Background

As a major part of Longhu Shan National Geological and Natural Park, Tianmen Shan is known for its
exuberant natural beauty consisting of stretching hills, lush green flora, majestic falls and peaceful
environment. With the sunlight playfully peeking through thick foliage and cries of wild animals echoing
throughout, Tianmen Shan is truly a place for one to be close to the nature. Visitors are often there to
appreciate the wonders of the natural formation at its finest.

Tianmen Shan is known in Feng Shui as one of the mountain formations described in the ancient classics,
Nine Dragons Assembly 九龍集結. The other mountains in this category are Taishan 台山, Wujian Mountain
烏劍山, Lion Rock 獅子山, Chongtian Peak 沖天峰, Yingtian Mountain 應天山, Xihua Mountain 西華山, Turtle
Mountain 烏龜山 and Holy Well Hill 聖井山.

This beautiful natural park is also the home to many unique Feng Shui formations, many of which will be
explored in this part of the excursion.

Internal Landform Analysis From Nearby the Entrance of Tianmen Shan

Water is present in the area; but, there is no Table Mountain nearby. Therefore, there is no form interlocking
the Water Mouth, which results in Water escaping from the area. This form is called “Clashing Prosperous
Formation”.

Looking inward, there is a very special formation consisting of one mountain (Nobleman Star) hidden
underneath a Wood Star Mountain, forming the Jade Hall Nobleman Star. Large formations such as this
will release its vein to a direction depending on where the Water flows.

There is also another prosperous formation in the area: the Double Wood Star Mountains, known
collectively as Double Arrow Formation 雙薦. This form will exude its positive influences and create two
successful brothers or twin brothers in a family.

Internal Landform in Tianmen Shan Area

Exploring further into the Tianmen Shan area near the village, there is a Seated Greedy Wolf Star Formation
坐下貪狼 with left and right embraces, resembling the shape of an armchair. This form has clear protruding
and sunken areas, denoting the formation of a Meridian Spot.

Looking outward from the same area, there is another special formation called the Golden Snake Comes
Out of Cave Formation 金蛇出洞. It is a rounded shape mountain, protruding outward and sunken in
certain areas. This unique formation acts as the Guardian of Water Mouth for this area.

Longhu Shan and No-Mosquito Village

There are two methods to locate a Meridian Spot in a specific area:

1. Using a Qi Men Dun Jia Chart – and look for the location of Life Door where the Qi gathers

2. Traditional Method – follow the trail of the Water

With the help of a Qi Men Chart, we can look for specific components in a Chart to help us determine
the location of a Meridian Spot:

This tells us the location of where Qi in an area

The Life Door in the Kan 坎 (North) gathers. This could be the location where the
Palace Dragon vein is released.
Qi Gathering Direction: Northeast - North

The location of the Death Door indicates where

The Death Door in the Li 離 (South) the land is. Usually in Qi Men Feng Shui analysis,
Palace we use the location of the Death Door as an
indications of where the Meridian Spot is.
Possible Meridian Spot Location: Southwest – South

In the North direction, the vein of the Dragon passes through 3 different hills, indicating prosperous Qi and
blessing for 3 generations in a family. If the village taps into the main Qi of this area, the villagers would
have enjoyed prosperity and good luck for three generations. However, this village is not oriented to tap
into the main Qi from the vein, which is unfortunate.

The Water crosses the Golden Snake Comes Out of Cave Formation, which now serves as a Table
Mountain for this area.

We can find the ‘Clipper’ Meridian Spot in this mountain. The soil around the Meridian Spot is soft and
according to the classical text, it is likened to stepping on “the soft fatty tissues underneath a turtle’s
shell”. The area is also windless, but surprisingly not stuffy.

How to Tap Into This Meridian Spot?

You can apply either Yin or Yang House method to tap into this Meridian Spot. This is a high to mid-level
Dragon, and the land is considered Fa Ping 化平. Therefore, you can use a “build-on-top” method to
directly tap into the Qi of the Meridian Spot.

However, tapping into this Meridian Spot can be tricky. If you tap slightly outside the area of the Meridian
Spot, there will be huge differences in the outcome, as per the ancient classical text below.

相差一条線
If there is a slight difference,

富贵永不见
Fortune will not be forthcoming.

Hence, you need to be highly precise when it comes to tapping on to the right spot.

Special Formation

Pushing the Cart Formation

There are six Heavenly Bright Stars 天罡星 in the area, all in good shape and appear repeatedly.

This type of mountain formations is part Earth and mostly Metal element. From the opposite side,
the Pushing the Cart Formations pushes the wealth to the other area. There are layers of embraces
protecting and collecting the Qi.

This is regarded as an Indirect Wealth formation. This is a very auspicious formation and it is capable of
producing wealthy people and investment tycoons.

The verse to describe this formation:

雙疊天罡形亦好,
The Double Heavenly Bright Star is very prosperous,

推車來進寶;
Pushing cart, ushering in wealth,

巒巒尚主進橫財,
The blessing of indirect wealth into this area.

富貴始終來
