The Traveler
A traveler stood by the road alone
With a small little bag and his cloths all torn
He walked slowly down the street with his oil covered feet
The sun blazed and sweat poured down his face
He walked and walked on the endless road

The traveler was lonely and had no one

The cars sped on the single road yet he was walking all alone
Garbage was flying out of the vehicles
The traveler stared at the road and looked behind him

Behind him he saw smoke and the city air

The road was broken and beyond repair
It was too late to give it care
And no time to turn back and stop
The traveler looked ahead of him and wondered what laid ahead
The sky seemed to stir from crystal blue to dirt gray
It seemed that the road ahead doesn't have an established path

The traveler was neglected and poor

Although he wanted nothing but some change
No one chose to help him
They just went away hoping for something better
Since it's easier to avoid mistakes than fix them
The traveler sighed and hoped the road would change
Towards the crystal blue sky
Blind
There’s nothing
Everything is empty
There's no darkness or light
Just an empty unfilled void
The sounds are clear
And the senses are alive and feel
But there’s no sense in direction
Since the eyes and brain don’t have a connection
Not even a glance at your own reflection
Just a feeling of dissatisfaction
The world is like a maze with no sense of direction
Only a sense of imperfection
You reach for a hand and hope it guides you
Through the dark and through the light
And hopefully you never let go of that hand
Feel it rest in your grip for eternity
The spark
A spark is burning in all of us
At time it grows but sometimes it fades
Sitting there forever yet it never adjusts
Forever changing for many decades

It's beyond control or physical reach

When you're at your worst it still sparks
Nothing that we ever learn or teach
And forever leaves its marks

When you're at your best it enlightens

Full of flames and ready to burst
Your blood rushes and your emotions heighten
The feeling is there and it's difficult to reverse

One day the spark dies out once and for all
And you lie there helpless fading away as you hear the rainfall
Colorless

The alarm beats again
I get out of bed like any other day
The birds chirp outside in the sun
Yet their singing sounds like piercing
The wonderful sun used to be bright and yellow
Now its a light to medium gray at best
Traveling to work was the same
Young kids are joyfully playing in the park
Yet their sounds are muffled and indistinct
The smile from others were showing
If only a smile was that easy to give
The clock drags by with the hour hand stuck
Waiting for it to be over felt nice
But the same thing awaits tomorrow
There was just no escape
Slowly the day gets darker and its night
The stars appear but don’t glow
Just another gray and hazy day
The alarm beats again
The place
I grew up in a dangerous place
In this place cops are always on the chase
While the criminals hide in their base
Detectives are working on the case
BAM there goes the gunshot and another person is gone
We then accept it and just move on
The taxes in this place are pretty high
They even make adults cry
This place has skyscrapers that choke on the pollution in the air
Not to forget the expensive health care
In this place the weather is bipolar
One day the weather is boiling hot
The next day it's freezing cold and you have to wear a lot
This is a one of a kind place
It is different from any place
Welcome to Chicago

UnderWater
Drowning in eternity
The ocean in every direction
No land or anything within reach
Just the feeling of liquid all throughout
A small amount of light above
But too late to swim up
The body begins to feel numb
And the five senses are disappearing
The last seconds are coming
The air is out followed by a swallow of water
And Another
Followed By Another
And Another
Ode to Friday
Thank god, Friday is here!
It seems like all my worries and problems disappear
I happily walk through the front door
And slide my bag across the floor

I have homework to do
But that can wait, I’ll just go to bed
And watch some movies on Netflix instead
I play some video games and run through the stages
Meanwhile the clock speeds up and races

The weekend is a blur and passes

And I forgot to study for all these classes
Then the cycle repeats
As the alarm ticks and beats

The sun hides behind the clouds since its Monday

Everything seems colorless and gray
The weekend is out of reach and so far away
Can’t wait till Friday is here!

Ode To Sleep
What an amazing thing you are
If you were a living thing you would be everyone's favorite
You appear and make the bad emotions disappear
The comfort you give is priceless
The thought of death might not be bad after all
Just an endless sleep
As the eyelids drop the dreams begin
The neverending adventures return yet again
What will it be this time?
Like watching a movie through your perspective
Sometimes with luck you can control them
Other times you just live through it
When it’s over the memories seem to fade
And you wish you could go back to relive it
Laying in bed is beyond any other feeling
Just let me rest for a few more minutes…
The gambler
A roll of the dice is all it takes
A flick of the wrist and the cubes spin
They bounce and they land
The gambler had landed another pair of doubles
And just bet his soul for all the money
Now the money was his
But there was more
The gambler shook the dice and rolled again
With luck on his side he won again
This time he won all the power there was
With the illusion of luck being biased he rolled again
Surprisingly he got another pair of doubles
Now he won all the respect in the world
He smiled and thought that luck was his
One more roll and he could have everything there was
But also lose everything he won
He shook his wrist and threw
The two dice didn’t match
And so he was left with nothing
Luck is only temporary
But people's greeds are ever lasting

 Clocks
The clocks ticked and the baby was born
Slowly the time crept and the baby wept
After a few steps the baby began to grow
As the clock moved the baby transformed into a kid
The parents watched as he left for his first day to school
They looked at the clock and got ready for work
Another glance at the watch and it was graduation time
The young boy got a brand new watch as his gift
He smiled and looked at his wrist
Then gave his wife a goodbye kiss
In the park he sat by himself
Knowing his days were close
He looked at the clock one more time

Photograph

The picture was there
Breathing and alive
It stares into your soul
And tells a story
Telling you the place and time
The people and the events
That occured in that frame
Although the photograph can’t move
But can tell an amazing story
Like no other

Musical Notes
The harmony sounded
And the crowd listened - astounded
The notes that played traveled in the air
They danced along and touched every little hair
The ears were hungry for more
Just like a stomach- it was too hard to ignore
They devoured the notes till they were full
And when the musing stopped they continued
The harmony played in the head
The ears recalled the tune perfectly
And the lips moved singing the words inadvertently

Green Bills
The bill fell from a stranger’s hand
Flying and traveling across the land
The kids yelled and screamed
Just a few inches from their reach
The excitement from the crowd was visible
Thoughts of a free Benjamin were so great and inexplicable
The simple thought of a single sheet of paper brought joy
In their eyes it was an object or dinner to enjoy
To the kids it was a flying game or a toy
As the bill flew the imaginations grew
As the little green bill was found and turned into something new

Pages
The fingers felt the corners of the pages
The eyes looked at the words and shot them with lazers
The lazers flashed and turned words into pictures
The nerves on the fingers connected with the pages
And the feelings traveled from the words to the brain
Emotions and feelings in the brain run like a train
The reader’s eyes flash like a screen is in front of them
Suddenly they are trapped inside the sentences and words
Can’t get out, like a cage that entraps little birds
The world around them darkens and closes
The reader loses track of time and never opposes
Now a prisoner until the words run out
And can’t live till they know what the whole story is about
Final Journey
It was the last ride
The last few sights
Sometimes there’s a feeling
When your time is coming
And your world feel like its ending
The last trip you take
And the last decision you make
Feels so close
But destiny is out of control
So you take one last ride
Moving past the memories
Drift away from the emotions
Free from everything there is
Since it will all disappear
Your presence
Your voice
Your actions
But the world moves on
Your existence will be forgotten
As time passes you will be nothing
Just a tiny spec in the universe
Just a mere glimpse of time
People will change and the world goes on
Unaware that you were alive
So you take one last ride
To make every second count
Before the Journey ends
