High pressure jet Cleaning procedure

Purpose:

The purpose of this procedure is to follow proper methodology to carry out the cleaning activities thru
high pressure jetting in order to achieve the desired results.

Equipments covered:

1. Fin fans (external internal)

2. Heat Exchanger bundle and Components
3. Vessels and Drums
4. Piping system

Procedure:

1. Ensure the isolation (mechanical/electrical) of the equipment to be cleaned.

2. Cordon the work area thru barrication or any applicable method to restrict entry in the area.
3. Provide proper signages
4. Cover the adjoining equipments if necessary
5. Arrange/Assign Stand by man if required
6. Arrange/install proper access. Erect scaffolding if required
7. Mobilization and Assembly of the jet machine
7.1 Ensure the machine is in good working condition, free of leakage, certified and ready to
commence job.
7.2 Check all moving parts, cover and secure the position
7.3 Arrange to position the machine where all the safety features are visible to the operator
and supervisor executing the job.
7.4 Ensure no loose connections of the hoses and other accessories required for jetting.
7.5 Hook up the water supply
7.6 Start the machine, set the required pressure and check the machine and hoses assembly
for any leakage. Tight if required.
7.7 Gradually increase the pressure and do a final check for any possible leakage.
7.8 Once confirmed and satisfied that everything is in place as per the above, proceed with
the cleaning/jetting
 7.9 Make a routine/time to time inspection of the machine and all its accessories for any
leakage, loose connection.( turn off engine and release pressures if retightening is
required)

8. Once cleaning is completed, dry the equipment and its parts by air blowing
9. Housekeeping ( to be done in daily basis)
10. Offer for inspection, if the cleaning is accepted, roll in the hoses, unhook the supply and do
final housekeeping
11. Demobilization.
