Management System Interested Review
Parties
1. Purpose
The purpose of this Register of Environmental Management System Interested Parties is as follows.
a) To identify parties, both internal and external to Anglia Ruskin University, with an interest in our environmental
management system.
b) To identify the relevant needs and expectations of these interested parties.
c) To identify which of these needs and expectations become obligations, legal or otherwise, that Anglia Ruskin
University must comply with.
2. Responsibility
The Environment Manager is responsible for maintaining the Register of Environmental Management System Interested
Parties and presenting any changes to the ISO 14001 Management Review group for approval.
3. Definitions
3.1 Interested party = person or organisation that can affect, be affected by, or perceive itself to be affected by a decision
or activity, for example customers, communities, suppliers, regulators, non-governmental organisations, investors and
employees.
3.2 Compliance obligations = legal requirements that an organisation has to comply with and other requirements that an
organisation has to or chooses to comply with.
4. Procedure
4.1 Interested parties are identified from the following sources.
a) Desktop review of existing interested parties.
b) Register of environmental compliance obligations;
c) ISO 14001 Management Review meetings;
d) Feedback from staff and students via surveys, lectures, or workshop events.
e) Results of internal and external audits.
4.2 Identify the needs and expectations of each interested party.
4.3 Record the evidence associated with each interested party and their needs and expectations.
4.4 Identify any compliance obligations associated with the needs and expectations of interested parties and record the
associated reference ID in the Register of Environmental Compliance Obligations.
5. Review
The Register of Environmental Management System Interested Parties shall be reviewed and updated at least annually by
Management Review.
