Brand LOGO and why they choose that

Colour HEX RGB

blue (Pantone 293) and yellow (Pantone 109)

IKEA was started in 1943 by a 17-year-old Swedish entrepreneur,
Ingvar Kamprad. While the logo may have changed, the company's
vision remained the same:
“To create a better everyday life for the many people”
With equal parts of better and many. Between September 2012 -
August 2013, IKEA printed 212 million catalogues in 29 languages,
and welcomed 716 million visitors to 351 IKEA stores in 43 countries.

IKEA is a Swedish furniture enterprise. It is a multinational private
home supplies retail chain. The company’s name “IKEA” is actually
inspired by the founder’s initials “Ingvar Kampar” and the first letter
of his family farm “Elmtaryd”, and his birth place “Agunnaryd”. The
IKEA logo is one of the most popular and widely recognized logos in
the furniture industry. It features bold and elegant lettering which
imparts a powerful and modern corporate image.

IKEA logo design has a very bold colour. The colour used is outdated
Swedish two extremely uncoordinated colours together. This is
deliberately designed by IKEA in Sweden, yellow and blue in the
livelihoods of people's lives they have played an important role. This is
also the main reason for IKEA to use yellow and blue colour, which is
the pursuit of life with the Swedes love nature are inseparable. The
yellow and blue colours in the IKEA logo are influenced by the basic
colours of the Swedish national flag. The blue colour symbolizes trust
and excellence, whereas the yellow colour stands for happiness,
imagination and energy.

The aggressive lettering incorporates the Ikea Sans typeface which

originates from the Futura font family and the contrasting colours make
the logo really stand out and create an impact. Inseparable from the use
of letters of the design and oval symbols, Ikea uses oval shape on the
sign just to bring a sense of heavy intermediate IKEA letters.

In Sweden, nature and the home both play a big part in people's lives.
In fact, one of the best ways to describe the Swedish home furnishing
style is to describe nature - full of light and fresh air, yet restrained and
unpretentious.

The IKEA product range - modern but not trendy, functional yet
attractive, people-focussed and child-friendly - carries on these
Swedish home furnishing traditions.
