RESEARCH DURING LAC SESSION

Kidaman Teachers inside the faculty during LAC session about Action
Research

Action research has this positive effect for many reasons especially for the teachers
who have doubts about their teaching strategies wherein they can’t assure if the
teacher really hits the standard of teaching to their students. The most important of
action research is always relevant to the teachers it is for the reason that it helps the
teachers be more effective at what they care most about their teaching and the
development of their students.

During the LAC session in Kidaman Elementary School, I was assigned as the speaker
for that day to re-echo what I’ve learned after the District Roll Out in Action Research
to share and encourage them that Action Research is not another burden to the
teachers yet it is the springboard towards 21st century teachers. My objectives for that
session is to introduce the chapters in making action research like in chapter one the
context and rationale wherein it includes the problem and its settings, intervention or
strategies for urgency to conduct the study and research questions which the
objectives statements has a brief introduction and open ended questions.
I also let my co teachers during the session to make their research problem with the
guide questions in research worksheets so that base on their answers they can
formulate their title base on their answer. The research worksheets includes the guided
questions about what are the primary concerns of the teacher in their current position
in teaching and what are the issues or concerns that they need to make an action to
make an interventions into it. While making their research problem as I have observed
that they have common problems that they encounter based on what they write on
their papers. Reading is the common problem that the teachers in Kidaman
Elementary School encounter inside the classroom that is why they can easily
formulate a research problem with their strategies that indicates the study is relevant.

The good thing about action research is it can improves processes of learning and
teaching as well. Enhancing teacher abilities and capacities to do the job meaningful
and it contributes knowledge development, practical improvement and policy
information of the teachers. Therefore, teachers can use those research findings to
improve their competences and teaching and learning process.
