a- Examen cerebral
b- Conservación de órganos
c- Anestesia.
d- Cirugía laser.
Operaciones que resultaban complejas o impensables en el pasado, como intervenir las amígdalas
o las córneas de los ojos, ahora son tratadas con láser en cuestión de minutos, sin necesidad de
anestesia ni ingreso médico.
Thanks to the use of technology in medicine, optimal conditions have been achieved for
patients in any surgical intervention. Currently, technological advances have been used
not only to cure but also to prevent diseases; and for all types of medical research, which
thanks to technology has made important discoveries.
Brain examination
Years ago, the diagnosis for soft tissue disorders like those of the brain was made by
invasive procedures. Now the TAC is used, which allows the study of an organ, especially
the brain, from different planes through the use of x-rays.
Organ preservation
Before the surgeons kept the organs in cold solution, they transported it in refrigerators.
Nowadays, a new process, called hot perfusion, can keep the heart beating and the lungs
"breathing" so that they last longer.
Anesthesia.
At the beginning of the 19th century anesthesia was not used yet, they used alcohol,
opium or chloroform. and the surgical techniques were very fast (amputations were
performed in less than a minute). Hygienic conditions were questionable until this was
used.
Laser surgery
Operations that were complex in the past, such as involving the tonsils or corneas of the
eyes, are now treated with laser in a matter of minutes, without the need for anesthesia
or medical admission.
