Teaching content and learning focus: Focus on online safety in ways to be safe online, on phones and what
to do if you are being bullied online. Students will be required to use the knowledge they have gained over the
term, as well as their creativity to develop a song or poem about anti-bullying.
Student knowledge/skills assumed: Students have been learning about bullying throughout the entire term,
and therefore should have a vast understanding about the different types of bullying and what to do if you or
someone you know is being bullied. As the students would have been exposed to the online environment, they
should have a reasonable understanding about the ways that they can remain safe whilst online.

Lesson aims/objectives:
 Develop an understanding of the different ways that students can be safe online and on their phones.
 Understand the best course of action if a student is being bullied online
 Create a song or poem around anti-bullying

The students have been discussing throughout the term. This activity is highly student centred,
As the students are to create the poems and songs themselves with little instruction or rules. The
Teacher will be moving around the room throughout, checking on progress.

readiness levels. The creation of the anti-bullying song or poem should be accessible to all students,
however the quality of these will differ between students.
Process/Support (how): Provision of written, active, visual and verbal activities. The brainstorm on the
Board about being safe online is both a verbal activity and a visual one. Students complete a written task
In the creation of their poems or songs, and an active game of charades.
Evaluation (assessment of outcome performance):
Level of responses and critical thinking will be indicative of student achievement, as well as completion

put an answer for each of the questions below

and picks a charades card from the bunch
 The student acts out what is on their card
 The class guesses what the action is that they
are doing
 Whoever guesses correctly can be the next
person to do a charade
