Motivation: conventional type vs. plug-in dry-type

Conventional type Plug-in dry-type

transformer
compartment

Assembly directly on the cable  Transformer compartment completely

closed
Compartment has to be opened and sealed at manufacturing site
Treatment of oil  Testing of transformer at manufacturing site
Expansion box necessary in horizontal  No expensive oil works on site
application  Quick assembly

already 20 years ago

16 February 22nd & 23rd, 2017 Scope Complex, Lodhi Road, Delhi, India
Principle of a pluggable HV-CONNEX Bushing

Bushing

■ For conventional bushing, field control

inside and outside transformer is in one
piece
■ Pluggable bushings have two parts. One
integrated in the transformer (socket), the
other consists of the conventional part
and a plug connector
■ Socket is permanently installed in the
Connector transformer and air and oil tight
■ Bushing is connected by plugging in
■ Connection is done automatically in the
Socket
socket during the plugging process

17 February 22nd & 23rd, 2017 Scope Complex, Lodhi Road, Delhi, India
Benefit of a pluggable Bushing

■ Flexibility even for high voltage equipment

becomes more and more important
■ Very short connection and disconnection time
■ No oil or gas works on site due to dry system
■ Connection of Transformer by cable or
overhead line is interchangeable
■ Complete range of pluggable components
available
■ Sockets are pre-installed into the transformer
