RIOCORD®

Normal and reinforced detonating cord,

for use in mining,quarries, construction
and seismic prospection industries
Riocord® is a flexible detonating cord
with a core made of an explosive
material (PETN).
It detonates at an approximate speed
of 7,500 m/s.

APPLICATIONS

Riocord® can be used both to initiate

nitroglycerine-based explosives or
boosters. It can also be used as a
trunkline to initiate non-electric
detonators. Its use along with micro-
delay relays, makes it possible
to define a wide variety of
sequencing projects.

Permissible Riocord® is manufactured

with 6 g/m and a coating that
includes a delay agent in its
composition making it suitable for
using in interior coal mining.

Riocord® is manufactured in both

standard and reinforced versions.
The reinforced types are used in
extreme conditions where special
features in terms of tensile strength
and abrasion resistance are required.

The larger weight formats are used
