Kerala State Industrial Enterprise Limited (KSIE) was set up in 1973 as a Holding compay of the
Government of kerala under the industries Departmet. KSIE was formed to revive and nurse the
sick units under the Industrial Department.
In 1979,Government of India took a decision that Air Cargo Complexes should be set up at suitable
locations by the concerned State Governments. The Complexes were intended to bring all
Export/Import activities under one roof. To begin with Thiruvanathapuram was identified as a
suitable location and the Government of kerala appointed Kerala State Industrial Enterprises
Limited as the Operating Agency for setting up and running Air cargo Complexes in the State.
Thus as a Government of Kerala undertaking, KSIE was appointted as the custodian of Air Cargo
Complexes at Thiruvananthapuram Airport in 1979 by Govt of India. Later on KSIE extended its
operations to kochi and Kozhikode Airports during 1985 and 1995 respectively. KSIE had to stop
functioning of cochin Air cargo Complex during the year 1999 when the Kochi International
Airport was commissioned.
In addition to the operation of Air Cargo complexes at Thivandrum and Calicut Airport, KSIE is
engaged in the trading and marketing activities ranging from consumer goods to industrial
products. KSIE is successful in establishing, managing and efficiently operating the Five Business
centres located at Thiruvananthapuram, Kochi, Kozhikode, Palakkad and Kottayam.
As part of expansion of Trading, the Company has stepped into e-business by hosting its own e-
comportal which also provides oppurtunities for small and medium size business firms to joi this
venture as “partners in progresss”. The e-com portal of the company www.Keralarcade.com is the
first of its kind in kerala with online payment facility.
KSIE is also functioning as the virtial Office of Agricultural & Processed Food Products Export
Development Authority (APEDA), Ministry of commerce. Government of India has appointed
KSIE as the virtual office of APENDA in for kerala.
“Kerala soaps” the only manufacturing unit of KSIE was inaugurated on1st January 2010 at
Vellayil, Kozhikode. The premium soaps like Kerala Sandal, Thrill Exotic and Thrill Chempaka
introduced into the market have created a new sensation in the minds of the people. After
inaugurating the 2nd phase of Kerala soaps on 27th January 2011 more products like VEP, Kairali,
Washwell detergent cake etc.
Kerala Sate Industrial Enterprises Limited has lunched our dream project – Cochin International
Container Freight Station (CICFS) at Eloor, Kalamassery on 25th January 2011. This CICFS will
be the first of its kind in the public sector of government of kerala having wide container stacking
yard, godown and office facilities for user agencies. The CICFS will be made operational when
the Vallapadam International Container transshipment terminal startds functioning.
As part of its diversification process, Kerala Sate industrial Enterprises Limited has started its yet
another prestigious project, Cochi International Container freight station. This is situated at
Eloor hardly 14 Kms away from the Vallarpadam International Container Transshipment
Terminal and along the side of ICT connectivity road reaching Kalamassery. This is the first of
its kind in the public sector segment with sate of the art facilities. The CFS is set up in 8.5 acres
land with the following amenities.

OBJECTIVES OF KSIE
We ensure that the cargo is recivied by us during the working hours.
We ensure incidents of damages during handling at our premises does not exceed 2 per
month.
The number of services deficiencies identified shall not exceed one per month.
All customer complaints will be properly attended and redressed within 3 days.
We ensure that there is no safety or security related lapse from our side.
We will optimize our operations for achieving cost effectiveness in all our services.
Safety drill will be conducted twice a year, changing the location every time.
