Energetic and dedicated Elementary School Teacher with 17 years of teaching experience
involved in all levels and subjects of student development. Have a passion for teaching, learning,
and student success. Work hard to create a happy, caring and stimulating learning environment.
Continuously seek out new ways to improve instruction and link learning with fun. My greatest
moments as an educator have been when I see the “ah ha moments” with students showing the joy

Developed an individualized program for an EAL student from Libya which included vocabulary building
activities, personal dictionary, home reading and comprehension questions, phonics games and practice
pages, computer word games, and one on one instruction.
Established clear objectives for all lessons/projects and communicated with students, achieving a total
understanding of grading rubric and overall class expectations.
Developed a blog for both students and parents that included information on classroom procedures,
routines, upcoming assignments, tests, and what was happening in the classroom and school to enhance
communication with parents and students.
Worked collaboratively with other teachers and Resource teachers to create effective lessons that met the
learning needs and abilities of all students. Developed and implemented IEPs with the student services
team.
Created and adapted literature circles, guided reading groups and book studies around themes of bullying,
World War II, chocolate, and friendship.
Ran noon hour scrap booking and craft club for Grades 4-6 students. Was a member of the library
committee with a group of other teachers that included ordering books for the library, planning I love to
read month, literacy centers, and booking guest readers at the school.
Introduced monthly parent newsletters to encourage open communication and enhance parental
understanding of what was happening in the classroom and in the school.
Provided reading instruction to all students in small flexible groups using guided reading strategies
Created and implemented literature units on Charlie and the Chocolate Factory and Charlotte’s Web.
