Mail Merge
Steps to begin the Mail Merge
3. Microsoft Mail Merge Task Pane appears on the right side of your
screen. Select the type of document i.e.
Letter
E-mail messages
Envelopes
Labels
Directory
For e.g. if you want to create a letter
click on Letter option.

4. Click on the Next option to continue that is shown on the bottom
of the task pane.
5. The next step identifies the starting
document of the mail merge i.e.
Use the current document
Start from a template
Start from existing document
For e.g. if you want to write a letter
on your current document then
click on Use the current document.
6. Click on the Next option to continue that
is shown on the bottom of the task pane.
7. The next step specifies the recipients of the
mail i.e.
Use the existing list
Select from Outlook contacts
Type a new list
For e.g. if you want to create a new list
click on Type a new list option.
8. Then click on Create…………a dialog
box is appears on the screen. Make the
desired entries and save the list.
9. Click on the Next option to continue that

10. The next step is for writing the
contents of your letter. Then place your
letter. Now you can write your letter.
Then place your cursor to the location
where you want to add the recipient
information.
11. Click on the Next option to continue
that is shown on the bottom of the task pane.

14. To print the document click on
Print option from the task pane shown
on the right side of the document.
15. To edit the individual letters click
on Edit Individual letters.
16. Now you will get different letters
for each recipients as selected from the
data source.
