Introduction to the incident

On Friday the 15th, at two mosques in the New Zealand city of Christchurch, the
carefully planned attack spreaded terror among the peaceful nation. The mosque was
full of worshippers at the time. The most horrifying thing was that the incident was
streamed live online on face book for at least 17 minutes, by a 28 years old Australian
born Brenton Harrison Tarrant, the gunman during the attack, which apparently shows a
gunman walking into the mosque and firing the gun. The gunman opened fire for 10 to
15 minutes. The new Zealand police stated while talking to media person that they are
trying their best to get the video removed and strongly urge that the link of video not be
shared. A wave of horror ran like a bolt among the people of Christchurch New Zealand.
Rate of people died and injured
At the mean time, police claimed that 41 people were killed at the Al Noor mosque on
Deans Avenue and 7 died at the Linwood mosque on Linwood Avenue. Recently 50
people have been reported dead, which includes children as young as 3 years old to the
women, and 20 seriously injured in mass shooting at the two mosques, making it the
most dreadful attack of the time.

Statement by witness
One worshipper, Mohan Ibn Ibrahim, said he was inside one of the mosques when the
shooting began and that he heard the gunman “continuously shooting for 10 to 15
minutes”. “It’s a big mosque and there were more than 200 people inside. The gunmen
came from backside. Gun shots went on for a long time. We had to jump the wall to
escape,” he said. Also he added he had a friend in another mosque in the area who told
him a gunman had opened fire there as well an five people were dead. Another witness
said he was driving by the scene and saw a man with a 3 to 4 year old daughter who
had been shot in the back and he was screaming to get his daughter to hospital and the
ambulance could not come in until it was secure so I just got my truck loaded with man
and his daughter , and another guy that had been shot in leg , and took them to
hospital.
One man outside the mosque said that he prayed that gunman would “run out of bullets”

Bangladesh cricket team

Bangladesh’s international cricket team survived the mass shooting by a split second.
The team was in Christ church for a test match against new Zealand on Saturday and
were taking a break from practice to join in the Friday prayers at mosque.
As team members were about to enter the mosque the shooting started which left with
dozens of injured and dead .luckily the players survived the attack and returned to their
hotel safely, however many players witnessed the incident from the bus which shook
the players pretty bad.

Hatred toward Islam and Muslims

Australian Senator Fraser Anning said that the attack which killed the worshippers in
southern New Zealand was the result of Muslim immigration into the country. Also after
the attack, mean comments were seen on social media by the anti Muslim hate
mongers as they have been celebrating this terror attack by calling the whole incident
as a “well deserved lesson” and have been openly praising the attacker as a “ brave
man” and claiming terrorist as a “hero” for gunning Muslims.
Pakistani PM announces award for “Pakistani hero”

The great Pakistani man Naeem Rasheed who died after trying to stop gunman will be
given national award, Prime Minister Imran khan has announced. He was a teacher
from Abottabad who moved to Christchurch, and was killed by the Australian gunman.
His 21 year old son, Talha Naeem also died in the Al Noor mosque.
