NSC reiterates Pakistan shall
continue its efforts towards
regional peace, stability
ISLAMABAD  (APP):  The  National  Security  Committee  on
Wednesday  discussed geo-strategic  environment with  special
reference to recent developments in the region and reiterated
that Pakistan shall continue all its efforts towards regional peace
and stability.
The  forum  discussed  and fully  supported  ongoing  efforts
towards a  sustainable and lasting  resolution  of  country’s eco-
nomic issues. The meeting, headed by Prime Minister Imran
Khan was  attended  by  Defence  Minister  Pervez  Khattak,
Interior Minister Ijaz Ahmed Shah, Law Minister Mohammad
Farogh Naseem, Minister for Kashmir Affairs & Gilgit Baltistan

country’s economic issues

cussed progress on the implementation of the National Ac-

The  meeting  discussed  geo-strategic  environment  with
special  reference  to  recent  developments  in  the  region  and
reiterated that Pakistan shall continue  all its efforts towards
regional peace and stability.
In separate  session, forum discussed  Gilgit-Baltistan re-
form. The prime minister directed that the aspirations of people
of Gilgit-Baltistan especially the youth must be given preemi-
nence  during  the  decision  making  process.  Earlier,  Prime
Minister Imran Khan also held a separate meeting with Chief

lashing out at government said

of  Saudi Arabia  (KSA)  will
extend a $3.2 billion deferred
payment facility with Pakistan
for  petroleum  products  from
the start of July, the PM’s Ad-

The facility will be worth
$275  million  per  month  and
will amount to $3.2bn per year
for a period of three years, the

Government agencies running on
the wealth of the nation are found
sucking their blood rather than
providing facilities to the public.
National departments including
PIA, steel mills, WAPDA and oth-
ers owe over Rs 1593 billion to na-
tional exchequer. The tax money
collected from poor masses is be-
ing spent on institutions having tax
deficit. In nine months of current
fiscal year, the departments owe
294 billion to government. As per
details, PIA owes 156 billion and
Pakistan WAPDA 88 billion to na-
tional exchequer. Pakistan steel
mill that is on complete halt from
4 years also owes 43 billion to gov-
ernment. Other government de-
partments owe 1084 billion to na-
tional kitty. The experts believe if
government did not expedite the
privatization process of these loss

Some institutions are formed to
provide facilities to the public in
every country, the purpose of their
establishment is to facilitate pub-
lic and save them from poor ser-
vices and huge profits of other com-

ery country has set up government
institutions in different sectors,
which were set up on public taxes
but they won the heart of their
people with their services, but they
earned so much profit that their
own governments were made fi-
nancially rich. But in Pakistan it
is happening contrary to it. The Na-
tional Institutions, which were
formed by public money and na-
tional treasury, were made failed,
but they continued to suck people’s
blood. Any political or democratic
government did not play any role
in the restoration of these institu-
tions or making them profitable
institutions. Instead, these politi-
cians started earning money
through unfair means including
bribery and robbery. From recruit-
ment to tendering some contract
they received a large share as a
commission. So as these corrupt
politicians intentionally damaged
the interests of all those institu-
tions to multiply the profit of their
private business and factories. For
example, a former prime minister
closed the Steel Mill for raising his
business of iron scrape and fur-
nace. Another former Prime Min-
ister of the same party, closed the
national airlines routes to increase
his airline business. The opponent

using all these national institu-

ISLAMABAD (AP P):  An
Accountability  Court  (AC)
Wednesday  granted  12-day
physical remand of an accused
Dawood  Morkas  in mega
money  laundering  and  fake
accounts  case.  National Ac-
countability Bureau (NAB) of-
ficials  produced  the  accused
before the court and requested
to  further  extend  his  physical
remand.  NAB  prosecutor  in-
formed the court that Morkas
had been arrested by the body
on charges of embezzlement in

(IGP) Islamabad  Muhammad
Aamir Zulfiqar on Wednesday
said  that  two  teams were  in-

PEMRA’s  lawyer told
the bench that 181 companies
had participated in the bid, how-

tive  efforts  were  required  as
community to deal with the this

The government  was

enough to control border drug

said that legislation in the anti-
narcotics force and educational

legislation shall be made exclu-
sively  on  prevention  of  drugs
in educational institution and to
be enforced in all provinces in-
cluding a compulsory drug test
of students.

Umar Farooq in Indian Occu-
pied Kashmir  has denounced

stan  and  Russia  Wednesday
signed  a  Joint  Statement  on
‘No First Placement of Weap-
ons in  Outer Space’,  express-
ing  commitment  to  prevent
outer space from becoming an
arena of military confrontation.
The Joint Statement was signed
by  Foreign Minister  Shah
Mahmood Qureshi and his Rus-
sian counterpart  Sergey
Lavrov,  on the  sidelines  of
Shanghai  Cooperation
Organizations’s Council of For-
eign Ministers meeting held in
Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan, a Foreign
Office  statement  said.
It  said  the  outer  space
was being used by an increas-
ing number of states and Paki-
stan consistently highlighted the
risks  of  weaponization  which
threatened the long  term
sustainability of peaceful space
activities.
“The use of force against
space-based objects, the devel-
opment and deployment of Anti
Ballistic  Missile  systems  and
their integration into space as-
sets  have  added worrying  di-
mensions to the issues relating
to Outer Space,” the statement

seeking cancellation
of bail of former ETO
ISLAMABAD (Online): Su-
preme Court (SC) has  re-
jected  the  petition filed  by
NAB seeking  cancellation
of bail of an accused in forg-
ery  case.  NAB  had  filed  pe-
tition for cancellation of  bail
in  respect  of  former  Excise
and  Taxation  Officer  (ETO)
Quetta  who was allegedly in-
volved  in forgery  case.
Ulfat Nasim former ETO

vehicles  through  fake  docu-
ments.
The court while uphold-
ing the penalty of Rs 30000
against  the  accused  ordered
him to pay this amount within

cupied Kashmir, Indian troops
in their  fresh act  of state  ter-
rorism martyred two Kashmiri
youth in Kulgam district.
The  troops  martyred  the
youth during  a  cordon  and
search operation in Gopalpora
area of the district in pre-dawn
hours, today.  One of the
martyred youth was identified
as Zahid Ahmed Mantoo. The
operation continued till last re-
ports came in.
A  senior  police  officer
talking to media men claimed
that  the youth  was  a militant
and was killed  in  an  encoun-

JF-17  fighter  jet
to  Pakistan

recently  delivered  first  over-
hauled  JF-17 Thunder  fighter
jet to Pakistan under a project
that experts said would benefit
Pakistan’s aviation industry.

JF-17  and  delivered  it  to  its
Pakistani client in March, Glo-

AVIC has overhauled a made-
for-export  third-generation
fighter,  or  fourth  generation
according  to  another  widely
used standard, the report said.
“The first overhaul marks
an  important milestone  in  the
JF-17 project,” Fu Qianshao, a
Chinese air defense expert told
the Global Times.
The  first overhaul  repre-
sents the trial-and-error
phase of the project and pro-
vided experience in establish-
ing standards for other JF-17
overhauls  in  the  future,  ac-
cording  to  Fu.  Jointly  devel-
oped  and  manufactured  by
China and Pakistan, the
single-engine multi-role light
fighter jet  JF-17 made its
maiden flight in 2003.
The  first JF-17s were
delivered to Pakistani clients
in 2007 and a number of them
were  later  commissioned by
the  Pakistan Air  Force.  Af-
ter  a  decade  of  use,  it  was
time  for  the  first  JF-17s  to
undergo  overhauls,  military
analysts  said.
