7. Course Description:
The segment of Physical Education 2 enhance the understanding
and appreciation of Arnis as national sports in our country. It also
present how to motivate the students, develop their intellects
and skills, and hone their attitudes and skills necessary for
artistic expression and cultural literacy.

8. Course Intended Learning Outcomes (CILO):


At the end of the term, the students are expected to:
a. Appreciate the value and importance of knowing arnis skills
b. Analyze the reminders before knowing/learning arnis class
c. Know the brief history of arnis and including the different
names of this
d. Recognize the different fighting stances applied in offense and
defense
e. Demonstrate the proper approach of 7 striking and 7 blocking
techniques
f. Analyze the 12 striking techniques
g. Differentiate the approach applied in single sinawali to double
sinawali
h. Demonstrate the proper way of redonda
i. Perform a group presentation of arnis skills techniques
j. Value the importance of becoming punctual, creative, critical
thinkers, efficient, and responsible citizens

5. Course Requirements:
a. Quizzes – 10%
There will be several quizzes to measure the students
understanding and memory retention of the subject’s lessons.
b. Class Standing (Recitation/ Attitude/ Attendance/ Others) – 15%
From time to time, students will have to recite in the class for
the topic to be discussed. Attendance will also be graded.
c. Preliminary Examination – 20%

7. Policies :
a. Complete attendance and active participation in class activities
is enjoined. Students with perfect attendance shall be given
merit. Participative students will also be given merit.
b. A student must come within the 15 minutes from the designated
time of the class. After which, he or she will become late.
Three counts of tardiness will equal to one (1) absence. Number
absences allowed may vary depending on the number of units of
the course. Exceeding the allowed number will result in an OSA
report and a possible Failure Due to Absences (FDA) from the
course.
c. Students are expected to wear their proper P.E. uniform and IDs.
And also, proper grooming in classroom should be practiced.
d. Proper etiquette and language must be observed at all times in
the class. The students should sit properly and be attentive to
class discussions.
