1. PURPOSE

1.1. The purpose of this method statement covers Pressure Testing. The purpose of the documentation
emanating from this statement is to ensure that quality control objectives are maintained and
accurate records are established for all related activities. The objective is to ensure that the plan is
executed, controlled and documented in compliance with the contract drawings, safety standards
and specifications.

2. SCOPE

2.1. The specification shall supplement the pressure testing instruction, drawings, and attached
appendixes. If there are conflicts among these documents, the MBM Representative shall be notified
immediately.

6.0 PROCEDURE / METHOD TO BE EMPLOYED

 The safe distance for testing to be 290m as per the Table 1B mentioned in the document
4WPI-EW44001 .

 The Piping in the SMAC area are divided in to : AIR line and Instrument line
o AIR LINE
o For the SMAC Air line, as per the ISO drawing DOC0000932561-1107,
DOC0000932561-1106A ,DOC0000932561-1106B, We will blind the required
flanges and charge through point marked in DOC0000932561-1107. The line is
identified as circuit 1 so the full test pressure will be 10 Bar.
a. First the crane is placed at storage area.
b. Vent silencer is lifted and blinds are fixed.
c. Safety relief valve (3CP-PSV-1602) is removed and relief valve is fixed
accordingly.
d. Crane is released after the blind flanges are fixed.
e. All the valves are kept in open position.
f. Bellows (3CP-SP-1101) is removed from line and compressor through
which air charges is connected at the point with required hose
connections and manifolds.
g. Similarly the crane is parked near the pipe bridge area to lift the pipe
spool and fix blinds. The distance from the crane location to the blind
fixing location is 33m.
h. The line is pressurised upto required pressure and the pressure is
maintained upto 10 mins.
i. The pressure is released after the holding time from the air line.
j. The crane lifts the pipe spools again and the blinds are removed.
k. The flanges are properly tightened with new gaskets according to AP
standards.
l. Remove all connections from the air line and refix the bellows properly
with new gaskets.
o INSTRUMENT LINE
o For the Instrument line, as per the ISO drawing DOC0000932562-1000A,
DOC0000932561-1000A, DOC0000932561-1000B We will blind the required
points as shown in ISO drawing attached with this method statement. Then
charge through the gauge point. The line is identified as circuit 2 so the full test
pressure will be 7.7 Bar.

 We are using 50 ton crane for lifting activities.

7.0 CHECK POINTS

7.1 Essential Checks

 Lifting capacities of main boom with respect to the lifting distance checked.
 All valves are in open position.
 Safety valves are removed.
 Gauges are calibrated.
 Relief valve is calibrated.
 New gaskets used.
 Blind flanges fixed properly.
 Feed system fixed properly.
 Barricade & isolate the location.
 Torque of blind flanges to be checked.

7.2 Optional Checks

 Manifold pressure is adequate.

7.3 Common Checks

 Study Drawings.
 All Reference drawings available.
 Study reference procedure.
 Any discrepancies noticed.
 Inspection done.
 Discrepancies brought to the notice of Client.
 Documentation procedures followed.
 Permits/Clearances from Local authorities obtained.
