Growth Trajectory

Throughout my high school experience I have grown in many different ways. When I

was a freshman, I was very immature. I would constantly get into a lot trouble with my teachers

because I would never listen to them. I didn’t know how to properly talk to my teachers so I

would come off very rude when I would ask them questions. I was also very disrespectful and

would always talk back to them instead of doing what I was told. Now that I am a senior, I

realized that I shouldn’t be disobeying my teachers because their whole purpose is to help me

become a better student and grow as a person. I have become a more mature person because I

never get into trouble anymore because I do what I am assigned to do. I've managed to lose my

negative attitude and talk to my teachers in a more respectful manner. Being a more mature

person will help me in college because I will be able to stay on task in class and not get

distracted by others or be a distraction to others. I will also know how to talk to my professor in a

respectful way and be able to have good relationships with them.

My freshman year of high school I had very poor studying skills. Although I was an

honors student, the classes to me where not very difficult and I managed to understand the

material I was learning most of the time. Due to this, I would not study for any test or quizzes I

had and I managed to pass them without any difficulty. Now as a senior, the classes became

more complicated because I took AP classes that require a lot of work as well as studying. I've

managed to figure out a way for me to study that helps me understand information and that is by

creating flashcards and using different examples to help me understand the information well.

This will help me in college because the classes I will be taking will be challenging and I will be

able to get through college by using my studying skills to understand information.

My freshman year, I was a very timid person when it came to talking to people. I was

only comfortable talking to my two closest friends. I was would always try to avoid having

conversations with others because I was scared of what they would think about me. Now that I

am a senior, I am much more social and enjoy getting to know people. I feel joining soccer has

really helped me become more social because I had to communicate well with my teammates

and that really helped me get out of my comfort zone and it helped me to stop worrying about

how others will think about me. Being more social will help me when I get to college because I

will be able to talk to my classmates and make friends. This can help me if I am ever struggling

because I can ask my classmates for help and clarification.
