(1)Critical
(a) A critical defect is one that judgment or expérience indicate could result in hazardous
or unsafe conditions for individuals using or maintaining thé product, or for major
end-items of products such as ships, aircraft or cells, a defect that could prevent
performance of thelr tactical function.

(2) Major
(a) A major defect is a defect, other than critical, that could result In fallure or materially
decrease thé usablllty of thé unit or product for Its intended function.

(3) Minor
(a) A minor defect is that does materially decrease thé usuability of thé unit or product
for its intended function, or is a departure from established standards havlng no
important bearing on thé effective use or opération of thé unit.

B. Defects types

(1) "Istcategory
(a) Blemishes and some minor superficial defects, internai or external, which can be
repalred by subséquent finish opérations or whlch are permitted without repair.

(2) 2nd category

(a) Critical, major or minor defects that must be repaired.

C. Limit of defects that do not need a repair

(1) Internai surface

(a) Thé basis for acceptance is one minor defect per square meter of bladder wall. Such
defects must not be more than thé limits given in thé «Minor Defects» column.
(2) External surface
(b) There is not any limit to thé number of minor defects if their dimensions are not more
than thé limits given in thé «Minor Defects»column.
