WHY 2020 Roadmap?

TO ACHIEVE 2020 AMBITION TOGETHER AS ONE

SO THAT WE DON’T BIND OURSELVES ONLY WITH
OUR TERM BUT SEE WHAT IS THE EXPECTED
PROGRESS AND HOW INITIATIVES FIT TOGETHER.
HOW WAS IT CREATED?

Step 1: After IC2015 we collected inputs from the


network on what should we focus on to get to the
2020 ambition (around 10000 AIESECers giving their
input)
Step 2: Consolidated it and asked at MCP Dec
summit how to “strategize” it
Step 3: Based on the strategies hosted a space for
inputs at IPM with MCPs 1517
Step 4: consolidated bigger focuses after IPM,
gathered more feedback
Step 5: improved and made it final with Global
Steering team 1617

Strategies

Based on all of the inputs we collected and on


different components of organization, putting
it together with external consultancy we were
able to identify 5 key strategies that we need
to work on for AIESEC 2020 globally.
These are the only “non-negotiable”, “fixed”
items of the roadmap which provide us a
framework for global planning.

All the strategies are interconnected. One thing cannot happen
without the other: if we want to have more flexible AIESEC XP to
shape what we do around what the world needs, become more
accessible and innovate in our business models, our systems and the
way we run programs should evolve, together with the way we
recruit, induct and educate our membership. If we want to become
more accessible, we have to take care of organisational sustainability.
These are just few interconnections, overall all the strategies are
supporting one another in achievement of our ambition.

DOES AI RECOMMEND TO MAKE
OUR OWN ROADMAPS?

NO.
THE PURPOSE OF THE GLOBAL
ROADMAP IS TO MAKE PLANNING
EASIER AND FASTER. CREATING YOUR
OWN ROADMAP WOULD ADD
ANOTHER LAYER OF COMPLEXITY.
Think about the next generations which will have to align it over and
over again after each global planning instead of making things
happen.
As AIESEC, we were able to come together and agree on
the actions we want to take globally to evolve to become
Youth Leadership Movement.
It’s up to all generations of AIESEC 2020 to be able to
keep it together and work on it as one AIESEC, so that
2020 will be a huge success for AIESEC and the world.
