MULTI-PURPOSE Vehicle with Caliber .50 Heavy Machine Gun Remote
VEHICLE Controlled Weapon System (RCWS)
1 CAPABILITY AND TECHNICAL REQUIREMENTS
Mobility
Passenger– the vehicle should be able to carry a
minimum of 8 Assaulter and 4 vehicle crew at full
combat gear. The passengers must be accommodated at
Payload normal seating capacity.
Cargo- the vehicle shall be able to carry a minimum
payload of 800kgs on off-road or on cross country and
1,000 kgs on highway or paved road.
Cruising Range– a minimum of 450 km on full fuel
tank.
Range Per Liter Of Fuel
Driving in the city– When driving in the metropolis
where traffic is from moderate to heavy, the vehicle when
fully loaded, should have an average range per liter of
Range fuel of not less than 5 kms.
Driving in the highway– when driving in the national
highway, where traffic is from light to moderate, the
vehicle when fully loaded should have an average range
per liter of fuel of not less than 6 kms or higher.
Driving in the uphill/ downhill– It should have an average
range per liter of fuel of not less than 5 kms.
Highway Speed– In a highway, it should be able to reach
a speed of maximum 130 kph starting from rest. This
speed should be attained within 1.25 km distance.
Acceleration From Rest- With required payload, it shall
be able to accelerate to different required speeds from rest
within the specified time:

Operability
Gradeability– Using either the high or low range, it
should be able to negotiate with a minimum of 45% grade
(24.23 degrees). It should be able to stop and go at this
grade.
Angle Of Approach– It should be able to negotiate at 32-
60 degrees (62.5 -173.2 % grade)with no part except tires
coming in contact with the ground.
Angle Of Departure – It should be able to depart from an
angle of 30 - 60 degrees (57.7 - 100 % grade) to the
horizontal without any part except tires coming in contact
with the ground.
Side Slope– It should be able to operate from 30- 70
degrees (57.73 %-274.7% grade) side slope.
Ground Clearance- It should have a ground clearance of
Agility 0.3 – 0.6 metersto enable it to go through a rough and off-
road driving without any part of the under chassis
touching the ground
Turning Radius– It should be able to make a turning
radius of 6.5 – 8.5meters in one complete turn starting
from rest
Obstacles
Mud– It should be able to negotiate a muddy area of 0.3m
– 0.6m deep.
Water– It should be able to ford water at a depth of at
least 0.7 meter.
Sand– It should be able to negotiate a sandy area.
Gravel– It should be able to negotiate a gravel area.
Ditch- It should be able negotiate at trench crossing at
least .75 meters
Accelerating
Straight– The vehicle should remain stable while
accelerating in a straight highway until it reaches a speed
of at least 100 kph.
At curves– It should remain stable when negotiating
curves at a speed of at least 30 kph.
Decelerating
Stability
Straight– When running in a straight highway, the vehicle
should remain stable when decelerating from a speed of
100 kph.
At curves– It should remain stable when negotiating
curves while decelerating to 30 kph.
Constant Speed
Straight– It should remain stable when negotiating a
straight highway in a constant speed of at least 100 kph.
At curves– It should remain stable when negotiating
curves at constant speed of at least 30 kph.
Service Brake
Ascending–The service brake should be able to hold the
vehicle when stopped along a grade of at least 60% grade
(30.96 degrees). It can stop the vehicle with stalled
engine.
Descending–The service brake should be able to hold the
vehicle when stopped along a grade of at least 60% grade
(30.96 degrees). It can stop the vehicle with stalled
engine.
Flat terrain–The service brake should be able to stop the
vehicle from various speeds to its required stopping
distance as indicated below:

Parking Brake
Brake Capability Ascending– The parking brake should be able to hold the
vehicle along the grade of at least 60% grade (30.96
degrees).
Descending– The parking brake should be able to hold
the vehicle along the grade of at least 60% grade (30.96
degrees).
Durability– The vehicle must endure a prolonged
operation under adverse weather and on-road/off-road
conditions. It must not incur any major defect.
2 PHYSICAL CHARACTERISTICS
Must be diesel feed.
Engine Must be at least 4-cylinder diesel.
Must be at least 185 hp.
Configuration and transfer Must be 4x4 and must have at least 2 speeds for high and
case low range.
Must be automatic and must have at least six (6) forward

speeds and one (1) reverse speed.
Axle-must be Independent double A-frame w/ hypoid
differentials and or double reduction w/ planetary gear in
the hub
Axle and suspension Suspension-shall be independent suspension system.
Strut type spring/ helical spring or shock absorber or coil
spring and or suspensions composed of coil springs and
hydraulic dampers.
Fuel system Must have a fuel tank capacity with minimum of 120 ltrs.
It must be design by military standard specification. It
shall be highly grade alloy steel that is hot dipped
galvanized. Once the steel substructure is assembled, E‐
coating is applied to provide additional corrosion

Chassis- it shall be the suspension is independent
suspension with double wishbone suspension.
Monocoque- it shall be the suspension has damper and
damper spring.
The overall outer and inner body finish must be painted
in Olive Drab. The chassis finish must be olive drab (flat

rust/corrosion treated to the highest standard.

Country (NDCC) type. At least 10 ply rating.

provide a certification for the minimum replacement
time of each component.
8 TRANSPORTABILITY

Should be 5.3 - 6 meters measured from bumper to

roads or during adverse weather condition. The spare
tire and carrier must not hinder vehicle operation.

Spare Fuel Tank And Carrier- a reserve fuel


container (made of metal), of at least twenty (20)
liters capacity, and a carrier attached to the vehicle
must be provided.

Corresponding Carrier– Each vehicle must be
provided with one (1) set of trenching tools. (See
Annex B - “List of Tools & Equipment). These tools
must be attached to the vehicle with an attachment
feature provided at either left or right side. The
attachment system must be designed in such a way
that the trenching tools and carrier will not rattle or
disentangle when the vehicle negotiates very rough
roads or during adverse weather condition.
Operator’s Vehicle Maintenance (OVM) Tools –
must be provided with Operator Vehicle
Maintenance (OVM) Tools. (See Annex B - “List of
Tools and equipment”). The tools must be snugly
fitted in the vehicle to avoid unnecessary noise and
rattling whenever the vehicle is negotiating rough
roads.
Maintenance Tools And Test Equipment –
Maintenance tools must be provided for every fifteen
unit (15) units.
Internal Communication System – should be
compatible to the existing communication equipment

The proponent must guarantee the availability of
