MATLAB 2009b Installation

Standalone – Windows

These steps describe the process of installing a standalone MATLAB 2009b client on a windows
computer.

Before installing you need the following items:

FIK (File Installation Key)

license.dat
If you do not have one or both of these items, contact your license administrator.

Step 1: Start the Installer

Insert the DVD into the computer. 2 directories are available: for 32bit and 64bit installations. Choose
the right directory and click the ‘setup.exe’ executable to start the installation.

A first window will appear: the Mathworks Installer Welcome window.

Select ‘Install maually without using the Internet’

Click
Next to continue
Step 2: License Agreement

Accept the license agreement and click Next to continue.

Step 3: File Installation Key (FIK)

Select the option ‘I have the File Installation Key for my license’ and enter the key that you received.

Click Next to continue

Step 4: Installation Type

Choose for ‘Typical’ and click Next to continue

Step 5: Installation Folder Selection

The default option is acceptable, click Next to continue.

Step 6: Confirmation

Click Install to start the installation.

Step 7: Installation Complete

The installation is complete, click Next to activate Matlab.

Step 7: Activation
The activation requires the license.dat file. Select ‘Activate manually without the Internet’ and click
Next.

Locate the license.dat file in the next window and the activation is complete
