las metas propuestas en la proyección de un mercado, afortunadamente existen recursos que apoyan y
orientan este proceso, especialmente en inglés.

Once the small business has determined all the variables, the entire process to determining
market share is pretty simple. The problem is accumulating the data on the size of a given
market. To help, there are several sources of information that can be used. Some of these
include: trade magazines, industry or market publications, the internet itself and getting the
information directly from customers.

How Can a Company Project its Future Market Share?

1. Does the small business have a cost advantage it could use to steal more business? If so, how
much could it realistically steal?
2. Doe the small business currently have contractual agreements on supply with customers and are
those customers looking to increase their consumption?
3. Can the small business capitalize on any errors made by its competition?
4. Have customers indicated that they’ll be buying more in the coming year and have these

1) Explore: You need to explore the current trends of the industry, the future expectations, government
involvement, major changes, technological advancement etc.
2) Analyse your customers: Instead of asking questions to others, ask questions to your own

3) Analyse your competitor: Who are your competitors and what are they doing to attract customers?
4) Analyse yourself: At this stage you need to decide what is your budget, how many man hours can you
