A. Background of the study
This study will focus about the effects of skipping meal on the mental state
among HUMSS students in GMATHS. This study has provided the research question
like, What is the importance of eating meal, What is the trend of skipping meal among
HUMSS students, What are the effects of skipping meal, What is the relationship of the
effect skipping meal on the mental state among HUMSS students in GMATHS, and do
the students aware with the importance of meal. Primary data were collected by
randomly distributing questionnaire to half of students by section in HUMSS students in
GMATHS in the morning. A simple I. Q test also attached in the questionnaire to test
their focus and memory on the morning they answer the questionnaire and also this
study focus about the effects of skipping meal on the mental state among HUMSS
students in GMATHS. Based on our research says Robinson, the first cause and effect
of skipping meal is Your blood sugar decreases, which causes interruption in your ability
to think straight.
Having a plant-based shake is a better woke up call than the snooze button.
Some students said a lunch period is the extra time to allow them to pursue a subject
they are passionate about. But skipping lunch can also cause your metabolism to slow
down, which can cause weight gain or make it harder to lose weight. Skipping just one
meal cause your blood sugar levels to dive “Sugar is the fuel your body runs on, and it’s
not circulating in the right amounts, every organ in your body is affected. Next, Your
brain takes a hit “without a study supply of nutrients, your intellectual and emotional
functioning changes, says moon.
B. Statement of the problem
The research was designed to study the effects in mental state of skipping meals
among HUMSS students in GMATHS specifically it answered the following specific
question.
E. Definition of Terms
Meal – noun, any of the regular occasions in a day when a reasonably large amount of
food is eaten, such as breakfast, lunch, or dinner.
Metabolism – noun, the chemical processes that occur within a living organism in order
to maintain life.
