To Whom It May Concern:

It has been my pleasure to work with Ms. Honor Shelef this year as her University Supervisor
for Internshiplstudent Teaching. She demonstrated a very strong aptitude for teaching and was able
to adapt the educational material to meet the needs of her students. She was encouraging and
passionate in her delivery of the elementary curriculum to her class. Ms. Shelef s compassionate and
optimistic personality, along with her strong classroom management skills, were among her excellent
qualities as an educator.

I had the opportunity to observe Ms. Shelef in her internship/student teaching placement.
Ms. Shelef had an excellent rapport with her fourth grade students. She was observed teaching
multiple disciplines. She designed each lesson to focus on key elements for the subject being taught,
using numerous formative assessment strategies to assess her students' progress. Ms. Shelef
developed lessons that encouraged her students to use higher-level thinking and cross-disciplinary
strategies. An example of this is a lesson that involved students wriring a letter to a corporate
executive that would support their ideas and findings for using parallel circuits for strings of lights
after their investigation into series and parallel circuits. Ms. Shelef introduced the tash set clear
expectations, and then facilitated the experience, ending with bringing students back together to
share what they had learned. Her facilitation of the activity allowed for her students to demonstrate
their ability to problem solve and show their understanding of the concept in a positive and
supportive educational environment.

Ms. Shelefs lessons were well designed and incorporated multiple modes of learning
throughout the lessons. She worked to keep the pacing of the lessons moving forward, allowing for
kinesthetic movement and gfoup work to keep students involved. Her use of non-verbal responses
in her lesson design let all students participate throughout the activities. This practice allowed her to
gather statistics on the growth of her students, while inspiring her students to try their best. During
Ms. Shelef s placemenl she developed a positive balance of using differentiation and whole group
instruction to meet the needs of her students. Her passion for education is demonstrated in the
construction of thorough and comprehensive lesson plans that allowed her students to exhibit their
knowledge using multiple methods.

Ms. Shelef was an excellent intern/student teacher. She demonstrated the highest Ievel of
professionalism and exhibited excellent pedagogy skills in her teaching. I highly recommend Ms.
Shelef as an educator. She will be a valuable member of any educational faculty. I wish her
continued success in this chosen field. Please feel free to contact me if you have any further
questions.
