CHAPTER 5

SUMMARY, CONCLUSIONS AND RECOMMENDATIONS

This chapter presented and summarized form of methodology and

findings as well as the conclusions and recommendations.

Summary

This study dealt with the establishing of “Speedy Grocer” in

Sta. Rosa, Nueva Ecija.

The researchers made used of descriptive type of research in

gathering the needed information for this study. This method

enables the researchers to interpret the theoretical meaning of

the findings and hypothesis development for further studies.

Specifically, the researchers utilized a questionnaire type of

descriptive research method which enables the researchers to

gather information from the respondents without the respondents

having any difficulties in answering the questions required for

the researchers to have information regarding the establishment of

grocery store with delivery services at Sta. Rosa, Nueva Ecija.

The researchers conducted this study to determine the

viability of establishing Speedy Grocer. Specifically, this

answered the objectives of the different areas of management as

follows:
1. Who are the prospective customers of the business? What

are the marketing strategies should the business ratify in

order to compete with the existing grocery stores?

The target market of this study is limited to households in

Sta. Rosa Nueva Ecija.

To ensure the profitability and good operation results of the

project, the following marketing strategies are applied:

a. The quality must always be ensured and that it should be

ready to compete with other alternative products.

b. The fast or on-time delivery of groceries should always be

observed.

c. The management will perform promotional activities like

distribution of leaflets, tarpaulins and banner, points of

display and etc., in order to get the attention of the

prospected customers.

The researchers recognized the fact that existing capacity

of the competitors is sufficient enough to satisfy the demand

of the market.
FINDINGS OF THE STUDY

This sum-up presents the collected information with regards

to marketing, technical, management and financial aspects. This

includes also the potential problems and socio-economic

benefits.

MARKETING ASPECTS

Marketing plays an important role in every kind of business

as it describes the market situation wherein the product can be

identified through the demand analysis. Success of the business

would be depending on how efficient and effective the performance

of marketing is.

In order to attract the prospected buyers, the researchers

have planned different ways to promote and advertise through the

following strategies:

- Advertising in the known popular sites such as Facebook,

Twitter and Instagram.

- Radio Advertisement.

- Disseminating brochures, leaflets, tarpaulins and banners.

- Offering gifts in different occasions and celebration.

- Grocery discount and special coupons


TECHNICAL ASPECT

The business will be established in Brgy. Rizal, Sta. Rosa,

Nueva Ecija. The location will settle in populous area near

terminal, church, schools, park and public market.

The owner of Speedy Grocery strongly needs to provide the

following items for better operation of the business and for its

innovation: POS All-in-One, phone (Plan 499), telephone with

internet line, broadband, computer unit, printer, chiller,

shelves, broom, mop and squeezer, exhaust fan, air conditioner

and 3-wheel utility vehicle.

Speedy Grocer’s management is looking forward in

maintaining the cleanliness, orderliness and sanitation of the

business facilities and employees.

MANAGEMENT ASPECT

Speedy Grocery will form a sole proprietorship kind of

business. The owner is also the general manager of the

enterprise. The owner receives all the profits and has an

unlimited responsibility for all the losses and debts. Every

asset of the business is owned by the proprietorship and all the

debts will be liable to the proprietorship.


The business needs to hire additional employees like cashier,

stock clerk, packager, information technology, laborer/material

mover, driver, and order attendant for its operation.

FINANCIAL ASPECT

It is estimated that 826,307.33 initial capital is needed

in transportation, buying office equipment, furniture and

fixtures and other expenses in managing the business.

The capital invested will be recovered after 3.5 years.

POTENTIAL PROBLEMS AND POSSIBLE SOLUTIONS

Any business has to operate effectively and efficiently in

order to achieve their certain objectives, but no business will

be successful without considering some factors that may hinder

in achieving success.

The researchers identified the following pain points in the

industry that Speedy Grocer can get away with.

Convenience. In this face paced life of metros, customer does

not have time to drive down to the shop and get the groceries. The

drive takes petrol and time along with the traffic frustrations.

The customer needs convenience of door step delivery.(marketing)


Quality. The traditional system does not assure quality. We

plan to operate at the best quality of products offered and we

would replace any defects and customer satisfaction is our top

priority. Degradable quality leads to hassle and inconvenience.

Customers do not need those so we aim to take care of these

requirements. (marketing)

Value for Money. Speedy Grocer with Delivery Service promises

a great value for money for all its offerings. It promises the

competitive and cheapest deals in the market than any other methods

as we provide discounts for all deals.(marketing)

Incompetent Employee. Careful screening of applicants is

one of the solution of this problem. It may be helpful also to

give proper trainings, orientation and seminars to

employees.(management)

Speed Matters. The management should hire a driver which

knows not only the primary but also the alternative routes when

it comes to delivery.(Marketing)

Trust. Through honest and fair operation, potential

customers will not have doubt to engage in this kind of business

transaction because usually it will be so much difficult to gain

trust from the customers especially when buying groceries

through delivery services.(marketing)


Socio-Economic Benefits

The project will contribute primarily for the shoppers who

do not have time in buying and want to be hassle free. This can

benefit also to those employees that are very busy in their

works and don't have enough time to go to the market just to buy

the groceries needed in their household. This study will help in

enhancing the development of the municipality through the taxes

that the business will contribute. This will give the government

an idea on how it can improve the economic and social status of

the community.

Conclusions

Base on the findings, the following conclusions were drawn:

1. The target market of this study is limited only to the

residents of Sta. Rosa, Nueva Ecija. In order to attract the

prospected buyers, the researchers have planned different

ways to promote and advertise through the following

strategies: Advertising in the known popular sites such as

Facebook, Twitter and Instagram, radio advertisement,

disseminating brochures, leaflets, tarpaulins and banners,


offering gifts in different occasions and celebration,

grocery discount and special coupons.

RECOMMENDATIONS

Base on the conclusions drawn, the researchers recommended

the following:
1. That this grocery delivery service can be online grocery

service in the future since modern technology is growing

faster and we should cope-up with it.

2. That this business can be pushed through since it was found

out that this project is feasible and reliable.

3. Decision in engaging this kind of business needs mindful study

and research.

4. That the quality of the product and fast delivery of groceries

should always be observed.(technical)

5. That there should be a harmonious relationship between the

owner/manager, the employee and the customers in order to

build a good reputation in the business.(Management)
