TEXT: ACTS 2:4
Acts 2:4 All of them were filled with the Holy Spirit and
began to speak in other tongues as the Spirit enabled
them.
Introduction:
Dito po sa ating text na binasa ang mga disipulo ay napuspos ng
Banal na Espiritu habang sila ay nagsasama-sama on the day of the
Pentecost at sila ay nakapagsalita ng iba’t ibang wika.
What is Baptism of the Holy Spirit?
It is an experience of a disciple whereby he or she is empowered by
the Holy Spirit.
Ang isang disipulo na baptized ng Holy Spirit ay EMPOWERED.
Empowered – means controlled, possessed and influenced by the
Holy Spirit.
Ang mga manifestation ng Baptized ng Holy Spirit ay speaking in
tongues bunga ng empowered by the Holy Spirit. Another
manifestation ay ang pagkakaroon ng PDZEE. (Passion, Drive, Zeal,
Energy, Excitement)
Kaya ang isang tunay na disipulo ay pinangungunahan ng Banal na
Espiritu.
I. BAPTISM OF THE HOLY SPIRIT IS:
a. A definite experience of every believer.
Acts 2:38-39 Peter replied, "Repent and be baptized, every one of
you, in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins. And
you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. 39 The promise is for you
our God will call.
Definite – clearly defined (maliwanag na sinabi), certain and sure
(tiyak at sigurado).
Sa v.38 sinasabi Repent and be baptized
Kinakailangang magsisi ang isang tao sa kanyang kasalanan, at
magpa-water baptize upang matanggap niya ang baptism of the Holy
Spirit. Ito ay tiyak na mararanasan ng bawat mananampalataya.
Ang isang taong na born-again hindi ibig sabihin ay baptize na ng
Holy Spirit. Iba pa po ang man’s spirit at Holy Spirit. Sa born-again
experience ay na quicken po o na revive muli ang iyong spirit (man’s
spirit). Dahil nanumbalik ang iyong relasyon sa Diyos. Pero hindi ibig
sabihin ito ay baptism of the Holy Spirit.
b. A promise of the Father.
Acts 2:33 Exalted to the right hand of God, he has received from the
Father the promised Holy Spirit and has poured out what you now
see and hear.
Ang baptism of the Holy Spirit ay pangako ng Ama na ibubuhos niya
sa mga nananampalataya. Sa Luke 24:49 sinabi na “stay in the city”
dahil bago isend ng Diyos ang isang disipulo napakahalaga na ma-
empower muna siya o mapuspos ito ng Banal na Espiritu.
Ang manner of baptism ay “infilling” o binubuhos ng Diyos within us.
Luke 24:49 NLT "And now I will send the Holy Spirit, just as my
Father promised. But stay here in the city until the Holy Spirit comes
and fills you with power from heaven."
c. A command of the Lord.
Acts 1:4 On one occasion, while he was eating with them, he gave
them this command: "Do not leave Jerusalem, but wait for the gift my
Father promised, which you have heard me speak about.
Inutos ni Hesus sa mga alagad na huwag silang aalis ng Jerusalem
hangga’t hindi nila natatanggap ang ipinangako ng Ama na baptism
of the Holy Spirit. Ito ay utos at hindi option na pwede mong

II. PURPOSE OF THE BAPTISM
Empowerment
Ang purpose ng baptism ay empowerment para sa pagbabago natin
at sa pagtulong sa iba na magsuko rin ng buhay sa Diyos.
Saan tayo ine-empower ng Diyos?
a. Power for witnessing.
Acts 1:8 But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on
you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and
Samaria, and to the ends of the earth."
May 2 paraan ng witnessing, una ay ang sinasabi mo o sine-share
mo at pangalawa ay ang ginagawa mo.
God empowered us to overcome sin, bad habits, bad attitude and all
weakness of the flesh. Nakikita ang pagbabago sa isang disipulo sa
katalinuhan at maayos na buhay dahil dito magiging effective tayo na
witness.
When we share, it is also important to demonstrate the power of
God, we are empowered so we can pray for them and see
manifestation of God’s presence and power.
b. Power for Spiritual Warfare
Luke 4:18 "The Spirit of the Lord is on me, because he has anointed
me to preach good news to the poor. He has sent me to proclaim
freedom for the prisoners and recovery of sight for the blind, to
release the oppressed,
Nais ng Diyos na ipakita sa atin na ang spiritual warfare ay totoo.
Mahalaga na ma-baptized tayo ng Holy Spirit dahil meron tayong
laban. We are in spiritual battle or warfare.
Matthew 16:18-19 And I tell you that you are Peter, and on this rock
I will build my church, and the gates of Hades will not overcome it.
19 I will give you the keys of the kingdom of heaven; whatever you
bind on earth will be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on
earth will be loosed in heaven."
Ang isang disipulo na aware sa spiritual warfare ay may power to
bind and loose. Buhay na niya ang wasakin ang gawa o ginagawa
ng demonyo. Lagi niyang tinitiyak na magawa ang kalooban ng
Diyos sa buhay niya at sa buhay ng ibang tao.
Tayong mga disipulo ng puspos ng banal na Espiritu Santo ay
inaasahang gawin ang mga sumusunod sa Luke 4:18
To proclaim freedom for the prisoners
Recovery of sight to the blind
To release the oppressed
Maraming tao ang nakatanikala sa kasalanan, bisyo at magulong
buhay. Ang gawa ng kaaway ay i-opress ang tao at magbigay ng
kalungkutan, kagulumihanan, alalahanin, takot sa pamamagitan ng
sakit at karamdaman at mga problema.
God has given us the power for Spiritual Warfare. Because Jesus
overcame Satan and all spiritual darkness, we too shall overcome.
Luke 10:19 I have given you authority to trample on snakes and
scorpions and to overcome all the power of the enemy; nothing will
harm you.
c. Power for ability
1 Corinthians 12:1-11 Now about spiritual gifts, brothers, I do not
want you to be ignorant. 2 You know that when you were pagans,
somehow or other you were influenced and led astray to mute idols.
3 Therefore I tell you that no one who is speaking by the Spirit of
God says, "Jesus be cursed," and no one can say, "Jesus is Lord,"
except by the Holy Spirit. 4 There are different kinds of gifts, but the
same Spirit. 5 There are different kinds of service, but the same
Lord. 6 There are different kinds of working, but the same God works
all of them in all men. 7 Now to each one the manifestation of the
Spirit is given for the common good. 8 To one there is given through
the Spirit the message of wisdom, to another the message of
knowledge by means of the same Spirit, 9 to another faith by the
same Spirit, to another gifts of healing by that one Spirit, 10 to
another miraculous powers, to another prophecy, to another
distinguishing between spirits, to another speaking in different kinds
of tongues, and to still another the interpretation of tongues. 11 All
these are the work of one and the same Spirit, and he gives them to
each one, just as he determines.
Ang Spiritual gifts ay Divine Abilities. Hindi ito ordinaryong talent ng
isang tao. Tayo ay binigyan ng kapangyarihan ng Diyos na
magkaroon ng access sa mga spiritual gifts. Kaya ang isang
mananampalataya ay pwedeng maranasan ito ayon sa sitwasyon o
pangangailangan nito. Pwede mong hingin kung anong gift ang
kailangan mo sa pamamagitan ng panalangin o pag speaking in
tongues at ang Holy Spirit ang mangungusap sayo. Halimbawa ay
mayroong maysakit at dapat mong ipanalangin, pwede ka ng
humingi ng gift of healing at kung ikaw naman ay nanghihina sa
pananampalataya, gift of faith ang kailangan mo.
III. MANIFESTATION/EVIDENCE
a. Speaking in tongues
Acts 2:4 All of them were filled with the Holy Spirit and began to
speak in other tongues as the Spirit enabled them.
Ang initial evidence na ikaw ay baptized ng Holy Spirit ay
nakakapag-speaking in tongues ka. Kung hindi ka pa nagspeaking in
tongues hindi ka pa baptize ng Holy Spirit.
Speaking in tongues is a heavenly language or unknown language
(unknown to the speaker but can be known to the listener kung may
mag-iinterpret). It can be language from other nations, just like in
Acts 2:4 kung saan ang mga disipulo ay nakakapagsalita sa
lingwahe ng ibang nasyon na hindi known sa nagsasalita pero
naintidihan ito ng mga taong mga naroon kasi lingwahe nila iyon.
b. Boldness in sharing the word of God
Acts 4:31 After they prayed, the place where they were meeting was
shaken. And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and spoke the
word of God boldly.
Isa pang evidence na ang mananampalataya ay na-baptized ng Holy
Spirit ay nagkaroon siya ng tapang na magpahayag ng Salita ng
Diyos. Kung dati kang mahiyain ngayon ay confident ka na at hindi
ka na na-iintimidate sa pagpapahayag ng Salita ng Diyos.
Example, life of Peter ay hindi siya dating matapang o bold
magshare ng Word of God.
Sa Matthew 26:60-75, makikita na na-deny ni Peter si Hesus ng 3
beses dahil sa takot na madamay at makulong. Ngunit nang siya ay
na-baptized ng Holy Spirit sa Acts 2 ay naging matapang na siya na

IV. HOW TO RECEIVE THE BAPTISM OF THE HOLY SPIRIT?

Acts 10:44 While Peter was still speaking these words, the Holy

Romans 10:17 Consequently, faith comes from hearing the

Ang Baptism of the Holy Spirit ay ibinibigay ng Diyos sa mga disipulo

na may desire na maranasan ito at ipinapanalangin na maranasan
ito,
