COMMISIONING PROCEDURE:

1. Obtain all the clearances for commissioning DG set from the

concerned divisions / agencies.
2. Record Location/service of the DG System.
3. Record technical data of DG System.
4. Physically inspect the DG for any damages.
5. Ensure all the power terminals are properly tightened.
6. Ensure the DG set properly earthed.
7. Ensure the incomer breaker from and the outgoing to breaker in DG in
test position.
8. Ensure all the DG switchgear panels properly earthed.
9. Ensure the oil level in DG set is upto the prescribed level.
10. Ensure the batteries are in healthy condition.
11. Check the water level is available in cooling tower of DG set.
12. Ensure that all tests on DG System are completed.
13. Record the insulation value of power and control cables with 500 V DC
Megger.
14. Make AC input supply through & check the voltages in all phases and
phase sequence.
15. Note down the Over Current relay settings and check for protection
trips.
16. Ensure the cooling tower pump starts on auto.
17. Connect external load and check for voltage regulation and record the
Vibration.

TRIPPING CONDITIONS FOR DIESEL SET

a) Over speed of diesel engine as sensed by over speed trip.
b) Low lube oil pressure after engine has attained 90% speed.
c) Incomplete start after a preset time.
d) High jacket water temperature.
e) DC control supply failure.
f) Engine trip due to generator fault.
