Summary of Hachiko

Literal way:
The story was all about an akita breed dog named Hachiko which fascinates
the world by his life long loyalty to his keeper. Hachiko is a brilliant dog with the
ability to know the people who love him and those who don’t. He is from Japan
on transit to the United States when Hachiko’s cage falls at a train station. Parker
Wilson, a college professor comes across him and tries to find him custody, but
ends up taking him to his house.

Over the days Hachiko and Parker grow fond of each other. Hachiko
becomes famous for his loyalty, when he escorts Parker to the train station and
meets him after work. Food vendors around the station give him food on his way
back home.

One morning, Hachiko seems to be having a bad feeling about Parker going
to work and tries to stop him, but Parker fails to read the signs. Parker dies from
heart attack when giving a lecture. Hachiko waits for his master to return but
realizes he isn’t coming. Family members try to make him understand but
somehow Hachiko is still hopeful that Parker might return one day.

After the house has been sold off, Parker’s daughter tries to adopt Hachiko
but he runs off and establishes a home under one of the old train carriages at the
station. Every evening he goes to the same spot to wait for Parker’s return and
this goes on for so many years.
