BBA-401-Business Ethics
COURSE OBJECTIVE: Business ethics the study of business situations, activities, and decisions
where issues of morally right and morally wrong are addressed.

Course Learning Objectives:


The objective of this course is
1. Understand what is business ethics
2. Appreciate the global nature of business ethics
3. Be aware of the prevalence of unethical behavior around the world
4. Appreciate the benefits of ethical companies
5. Understand the types of business ethics issues
6. Understand the stakeholder approach discussed in this book

Course Outcomes:
At the end of this course, the students will be able to
1. Understand the development of corporate social responsibility during the last few
decades.
2. Learn for how to run business with ethical manner.
3. Understand the types of business ethics issues.
4. Understand the arguments that support more social responsive businesses than those that
counter this position.
5. Become aware of the basic models of corporate social responsibility.
UNIT 1 The Concept: Abiding Values is Universal, Intuition Vs Reason, Human Values
and Economic Prosperity: Reconciliation via Indian Insight.

UNIT 2 Group Ethics- Ethical Attitudes of Indian Managers, Managers Facing Unethical
Management, Discussion: Groupthink and Unethical Behavior.
UNIT 3 Marketing Ethics- Discussion: Bluffing in Indian Marketing Practices, Ethical
Issues in Advertisements.

UNIT 4 Ethics in Finance: Ethics in Tax Planning and Financial Statements. Discussion:
Speculation and Insider Trading.

UNIT 5 Ethics & the Organization: Unity: The Basis of Ethics, Science & Ethics,
Technology & Ethics, Subjective Ethics in an Objective Age, Business Ethics,
Managing Ethics, Cooperative Ethics, Indian Ethos for Management. Role and
relevance of Gita in management.

COURSE OBJECTIVE:Human rights and value this course is designed to develop
fundamental values are respect for human dignity and human rights, freedom, democracy,
equality and the rule of law.

At the end of this course, the students will be able to
1. Students will ultimately be assessed on their ability to demonstrate a commitment to
professionalism, rights, ethical behavior, service, and, as appropriate, leadership.
2. Students will ultimately be assessed on their knowledge of the legal system and legal
doctrine. Students will graduate with a broad knowledge of foundational and other core
areas human rights , specialized knowledge in areas of interest, and experience with
advanced study.
3. Students will ultimately be assessed on the development of legal analysis, legal
communication, and legal research.

Rights, Evolution of Human Rights, Human Rights Movements in India,
Classification of Human Rights and Relevant Constitutional Provisions to
Right to Life, Liberty and Dignity, Right to Equality,Right against
Exploitation, Cultural and Educational Rights, Economic Rights, Political
Rights and Social Rights.
UNIT-2 Deprivation of Human Rights – Core Issues: Poverty, overpopulation,
illiteracy; Problems of
Unsustainable Development; Disadvantaged Groups – (a) Women (b)

Castes and Scheduled Tribes (d) Homeless and Slum Dwellers (e) Physically

UNIT-3 Redressal Mechanisms for Human Rights Violations: Violation of Human
Rights by State.
Violation of Human Rights by individuals and groups, Nuclear weapons and
terrorism.
