On the day of rocket making (3 Nov), each student can try to conduct two (2)
test launch. The results will be recorded for back up result. This result will
become official if the competition launch could not be conducted due to poor
weather conditions or other reasons. The student may skip these test
launches.
If the test launch were unable to be carried out on the day before, prior to
competition launch (4 Nov), each student can try to conduct one (1) test
launch. The student may skip this test launch.
Each student will conduct two (2) launches for the competition.
If time permits, top 10 students (GOLD band for both launches) will be
launching for the Most Reliable Rocket prize. For this prize, students must
continually hit the GOLD band until the last one standing. If two or more
students continue to tie, the gold band will shrink progressively to find the
winner. No rocket repair is allowed.
Students must use the launcher assigned to the lots they drew.
It is NOT allowed to choose the launcher.
Each student will have 5 minutes for launch preparation: setting the rocket
onto assigned launcher, pumping the air in the rocket (Air pressure must not
exceed 4 bars. *), adjusting the launcher’s angle / orientation.
*From our local competition with the material provided, 60 meters is achievable with 4
bars of pressure.
Exact distance from the point of impact to bull’s eye will be measured when
the rocket lands inside the GOLD band. The result of both launches will be
recorded. The launch that lands out of the circle will not be measured and
recorded as SILVER, BRONZE or OUT.
