I. Introduction to Master’s Program
1. Admission Policy
In the Master’s Program of the Graduate School, we foster students’ abilities to respond to new
facets of society with the professionalism of specialists and to contribute to society by making use
of that expertise as an immediate asset. To that end, we admit the following types of individuals.
-Those who share in the principles and goals of the Master’s Program, Graduate School of
Engineering and Science
-Those who have the basic and specialized knowledge of an undergraduate, a desire to improve,
a boundless curiosity, and the desire to take on any challenge.
-Those who respect the ethics of engineering.
The Course has constructed its entrance examination, curriculum, and policy and system of this
course up to the point of completing a Master’s thesis in light of these areas. Faculty members in
the Course teach in four different undergraduate Departments and one Course. In this Course,
however, they form cross-departmental groups to provide research guidance, and the subjects
offered to students after their enrolment are composed also based on these cross-departmental
groups.
Cosmopolitanism and expertise:
Both broad perspectives and language proficiency are vital to the realization of cosmopolitanism,
the concept on which this university is focusing, and the Course structure reflects that focus.
2. Master’s Degree
Students who have been enrolled in the Master’s Program for the specified period of two years and
are deemed to have achieved the above goals by studying the subjects in the Master’s Program and to
have completed a Master’s thesis shall be granted a Master’s degree from Shibaura Institute of
Technology.
