Esareka Aluminum Stop log

This Manual contains two main sections, the first section is Installation guide and the second section is operation guide
of the stop log. Besides that, stop log drawing was attached with this manual for user and installer for better
understanding.

Installation
The package of stop log consist of gate, lifter and frame (Drawing page1). Below stated the step needed for installation
Frame, Wall Mount installation:
o Unpacked the stop log from wooden packaging
o Used a crane (e.g. manual or forklift) to lift the frame vertically from the top frame.
o Positioning the frame to the wall and mark the wall plug location according to side frame support
bracket.
o Drill the hole, hole diameter and depth according to the shop drawing provided by manufacturer.
o Insert the wall pug and tighten it with nut. Unscrew the nut and attach the stop log to the wall plug.
Ensure the vertical alignment balance is set. Additional grout can be used to fill up the gap between the
wall and the frame. (more detail refer to drawing Page 2)
o For the bottom, 30mm thick grout is used to support the bottom of the frame (as show in drawing page
2, detail H). Ensure the horizontal alignment balance is set.
o After the installation done, it should similar to drawing page 5.
o Remove the temporary support bar using a handheld grinder.

Operation
The stop log can be used as obstruct water flow and facilitate water flow. Both need lifter and stop log gate for
interchange the operation. (Please refer to drawing page 4 for lifter drawing)
Obstruct water flow:
1. Place the lifter (part 3) on top of the gate, attached the hook (part 11) to the gate guide pin (Part 6 in drawing).
2. Positioning the stop log to the top frame. Slowly slot in the stop log with steel cable or rope, at the meantime,
the side seal (part 7) will deform.
3. Full release only when the stop log base seal touch the bottom frame (part 13).
4. Remove the lifter from the stop log by pulling the pull cable (part 12), then the lifter can be lift up without the
stop log.

Facilitate water flow:

1. Position the lifter to the stop log, the hook will engage the stop log due the weight attached on the hook.
2. Pull up the lifter with steel cable or ropes.
3. Store the unused stop log.
