LESSON PLAN

Theme: Superlative Adjectives

2. TEFL Objectives
Throughout this lesson, students will be able to:
a. Reinforce the knowledge of simple past tense.
b. Use place prepositions: in front of, behind, next to, between.

3. Methods and strategies


3.1 Methods:

4. Anticipatory set:
 I will give a brief explanation of the simple past tense for reinforce the knowledge.
In here I will write the basic structure and remember the rules of writing regular
verbs.

5. Main teaching input:


1. I will start the class with a warm up activity based on instructions like: Teacher
says: touch your eyes, touch your nose, touch your feet, jump etc.”, the ones who
get wrong will have to sit down until there is a winner.
2. Then, I will continue with the explanation of the prepositions: in front of, behind,
next to, between using real objects

6. Modelling:
 For reinforce of the simple past tense I will write on the board the basic structure
of the grammar: Subject + VerbInPast + Complement, and then I will ask some
students to write sentences on the board. Example: “Dear students after written
the basic structure of a simple past tense, I want some of you write examples;
please raise to participate.”
 For the explanation of the preposition, I will show real objects and put them in
different position; so the students can relate the position of the object with the
content. For example: “Dear students, look at the student book, It is on the table”.

7. Guided practice:
 I will ask to some volunteers to go to the board and write a sentence according
to the images that I will bring; then I will check any mistakes and correct them if
it is necessary.

8. Independent practice:
 Worksheet activity: “Look at the picture and answer the question: Where is the
cat”

9. Assessment:
 Teacher will evaluate the knowledge by asking students to go to the board and
write the answers of the worksheet activity, so the class can give the
corresponding corrections.

10. Closing review and follow up:


 If students show mistakes, I will use extra examples with more real objects and
make students write the sentences on the notebook.
