School, a WCPSS preschool for students with special needs in Raleigh, NC
• Researched technologies and applications that have been successfully implemented with
young children with special needs
• Wrote grant and created a plan to increase the use of technology at the school
• Budgeted the funds received from the grants
• Ordered products and assisted in assimilation into classrooms
• Created the website http://www.frankielemmonschool.org/technologies to share the
project with other teachers of young children with special needs
• Completed interviews regarding the program with local publications, including: radio
stations, "The News and Observer" and other newspapers and the summer 2012 NAEYC
publication “Milestones”
• Created “Special Technology for Special Kids” video about the project (published by
Ikea on the Ikea YouTube Channel and on the Nomacorc YouTube channel, a Frankie

• The clinic serves students in the Wake County Public School System (Raleigh, NC) who
have been recommended for reading intervention by their classroom teachers
