Wish statements

By the end of the lesson, Sts will be able to understand more about the simple
past tense and the usage of “wish”

Warm up:
-Ask students some questions -Have you ever wished?
-What do you wish?
Activity 1:
- Teacher gives some examples of the past -I did my homework last night.

Activity 2:

Activity 3:
- Ask students to review the sentence with - Notice: to be.
“wish”. Past simple with “wish”:
- Explain about “wish”. *Form: S + wish + S + Ved/V2/
- Say the usage of “wish”. WERE ...
Ex: She wishes she went abroad.
I wish I were taller.
*Consolidation:
- Students work in pairs to say about
something they wish.
- Get students to do in speaking in front of
class and then write their sentences on the
board.
- Teacher and the others correct.
*Homework
- Ask students to review, say the usage of
“wish” in present.
- Students learn the usage of past simple
and sentence: “wish”
