GRADES 7 DAILY De Padua
LESSON LOG Learning Area G7 Mathematics
Date: Quarter Third Quarter
I.OBJECTIVES
A. Content Standards The learner demonstrates understanding of key concepts of algebraic
expressions, the properties of real numbers as applied in linear equations,
and inequalities in one variable.
B. Performance Standards The learner is able to model situations using oral, written, graphical, and
algebraic methods in solving problems involving algebraic expressions,
linear equations, and inequalities in one variable.
A. C. Learning Competencies/Objectives The learner differentiates between equations and inequalities. (M7AL -
(Write the LC code for each) IIh - 3)

1. Differentiate equations from inequalities.

2. Determine whether a mathematical sentence is an equation or an
inequalities.
3. Apply the concepts of equations and inequalities in real life
situations.
II.CONTENT DIFFERENTIATES EQUATIONS AND INEQUALITIES
III. LEARNING RESOURCES
B. A. References G7 Mathematics by Orlando Oronce
Patterns and Practicalities on G7- Math pages by Gladys Nievera
C. B. Other Learning Resources

IV.PROCEDURES
D. A. Reviewing previous lesson or presenting the new lesson Directions: Study and analyze the pictures. Arrange the following
pictures according to their groups.

Equal Not Equal

E. B. Establishing a purpose for the lesson Direction: Observe the pictures below.

1. What have you observed in the pictures above?

2. What does each picture refer to??
C. Presenting examples/instances of the new lesson Directions: The table below shows examples of equations and
inequalities.
EQUATION INEQUALITIES
0=0 -2 > 2

3 + 3 + 3 +3 + 3 = 3(5) 3 (x + 5) > 3x + 5

2+3=4+1 2x ≤ 3x

5x + 2 = 12 7x < 25

4 (x - 3) = -4 6x ≥ 37

C. Discussing new concepts and practicing new skills # 1 LIKE OR UNLIKE

Directions: Tell whether each of the given is an equation or an inequality.

Choose if it is an equation and choose if it is inequality.

1. 12 =12
2. -5 < 5

3. (8x + 4) - ≥ 8x - 4

4. 3x - 9 = 6

5. 0 > -3

6. x- 4 > 9

7. x - 10 ≠ x + 10

8. ab > a + b

9. 7(7) = 72
10. x ≥5

D. Discussing new concepts and practicing new skills # 2 Answer the following questions:

F. 1. How do you compare the values at the left and the right of an
equation? Of an inequalities?

2. What symbol is used to define equality? How about inequality?

E. Developing Mastery HEP HEP! HOORAY!
G. (Leads to formative assessment 3) (PowerPoint Presentation)
Directions: Determine whether each of the following is an equation or an
inequality.
1) 2x = 12
2) 5xy – 3 = 27
3) x+4 = 4 + x
4) 2(x+3) < 15
5) x2 -8 > 5
6) 3(5x-7) ≤24
7) 3xy + 6 ≥ 56
8) -4x(x-2) = -60
9) 3x² - 7x ≠ 16
10) 28 + 34 = 1

F. Finding practical applications of concepts and skills in daily Group Activity

living Directions: The group will pick an objects, each group will place the
symbol <, >, or = inside the circle to make each sentence true.

10 - 10 (5 + 4) 2 5(4 + 2) 5³ 3(5)

9 + (- 5) 2² 3 (-2) -2(3) (12 – 8) + 9 12 (-8+9)

3(x+4) 3x+4 3+2 2+3

6(3) 24 -3 + 4² 5² - 12

H. Making generalizations and abstractions about the lesson Equation – a mathematical sentence indicating that two expressions are
equal. The symbol “ = “ is used to denote equality.

Inequality – a mathematical sentence indicating that two expressions

are not equal. The relation symbols <, >, ≤,≥, and ≠ are used to denote
inequality
I. Evaluating learning Directions: Indicate whether the given is an equation or an inequality.
1. X > 24
2. 2x+ 6 = 10
3. 3(3) ≤ 9
4. 22 – x > 12
5. 6x - 8 = 22
6. (2+5)9 = 2(5+9)
7. 5(x+4) > x +4
8. x + 3x = 8
9. 4x + 2x ≥ 7x - x

10.
Directions: Identify whether each given mathematical sentence is an an
J. Assignment equation or an inequality.

1. x = x
2. -5x > 26
3. xyz ≠ abc
4. 7(3x + 1) ≤ 49
