DIVERSE LEARNER NOTE CATCHER

Chapter: 2 Category: Learning Styles Date: 9/10

Topic Main Facts/ Ideas /Characteristics

In this chapter, we discovered the different ways that students
learn. This includes things like Audio, Visual, and Kinesthetic
learners.

Challenges/Strengths and Contributions of Learners

Visual Learners have difficulty when in a lecture without visual cues to go off of. They do, however,
strive with something like Graphs and power points

Auditory Learners struggle with presentations with many visual cues, being assigned reading,
copying notes. They are good with lectures, discussions and debates, and books on tapes.

Kinesthetic Learners may find sitting still challenging. They would love to word in labs, projects, and
groups.

Strategies for teaching the learner / Learning environment needed to be successful

Visual - Powerpoints with a plethora of pictures, note taking structures on pages encouraging
drawing

Auditory - Give time to talk, discuss, go over with oral directions, making those clear. Podcasts and
book on tapes would be great for this type of learner.

Kinesthetic - Games, labs, getting them up and moving. Brain breaks are another way to make this
type of learner strive.

Reflection:
● How has your perception of diverse learners grown/changed from your perspective as a student?
My perceptions of learners grew because I was exposed to the various types of learners and their strengths
and difficulties. I am now able to identify and cater to the needs of those of whom learn differently.

● What does this mean for you as a future teacher?

As a future teacher, I will be able to help and adhere to the needs of students who learn differently. I will be
able to build diverse lessons plans to make sure all of the students are getting the most out of all lessons.
