Teacher Cadet Enrichment Hours

Each teacher cadet will complete 15 enrichment hours outside of the classroom. The
enrichment hours are designed to help cadets see the dynamics of education in all its entities.

Hour Requirements:
● A minimum of 15 enrichment hours must be completed by the end of 1st semester.
● The cadet will be expected to choose activities which will allow them to reflect upon
experiences through 5 lenses: community, students, teacher, school governance, and
district/state governance (A maximum of 2 hours for each activity will count towards the
total 15).

Documentation and Reflection:

● Log:
○ The cadet will be responsible for completing the log and ensuring that all
activities be verified through an adult signature.
● Reflection Essay:
○ The cadet will write an essay where they reflect upon their enrichment
experiences through the five lenses of education. In the essay cadets will discuss
the knowledge and new perspectives that they have acquired in regard to these
lenses.
○ The Reflection should allow the reader to comprehend the various experiences
they were engaged in, as well as allow the reader to understand how the cadet
better understands the world of education and all its intricacies.
○ The reflection should be 2-3 pages, typed, with no grammar errors, and be
thorough yet concise.
● The log and reflection must be turned in by Fri. Dec. 7th.

Some examples of enrichment activities:

● Sponsored activities: trick or Treat Street, Conferences, etc.
● Meetings: Accountability, PTSA, School Board, Boosters, etc.
● Tutoring
● Assisting in Math Lab, Writing Center, Learning Center,etc.
● Reading to young children with in a school setting
● Extra-Curricular Activities at Schools
● Helping and assisting Teachers
● Volunteering at Afterschool Programs
