1.

Make a groupchat - It is important for students to have some way of communicating with
each other outside of the classroom environment. To be able to send a picture of your
work for page number/ format is key.
2. Be comfortable with your host teacher and classroom, if you are not, find a new
classroom - I have seen two kids outside of the school setting and both times it was less
awkward than if I was not comfortable.
3. Do not overload yourself with work. Teacher cadet is an essay or two every week. Please
do not hurt yourself in more than one hard class like that.
4. Be honest with your class - Let them know the goods and bads of your classroom, what
you do and do not like. Comfort is important, especially with a class as intricate as
Teacher Cad.
5. Get to know Mrs. Stover, let her get to know you. If she understands who you are, your
interests and such, you guys can have a much stronger relationship and you can get
placed into a class that suits your needs better.
6. Find a homie with a car if you do not have one - No one should need to walk to their host
classroom
7. Have as much fun with the logs and essay as you can within reason - No one wants to
write the equivalent of two essays a week, so have some fun if you need to do them
8. Have a trusted teacher to go to with interview questions - Pick someone and tie yourself
to the waist to them. More opportunity for you to grow with them.
9. Do all of the logs, even if you are up at 12 - All logs matter for your grade, especially
because of the amount of essays in semester two
10. Have fun while you’re teaching - Make your assignments and lessons fun for both
parties.
