1. How did the objective help focus your instruction?

I focused on the objective help me focus on the plan and structure of the assignment. I
backward planned, starting with what I wanted them to learn and planned accordingly on how I
planned to get there.

2. What parts of the instructional plan worked as you anticipated? Explain.

I enjoyed the student engagement because I feel like they really appreciated the
humorous connection, which I had anticipated.

3. How well did you anticipate materials needed?

I anticipated needed materials well because I didn’t need anything except for a
microphone, which I had access to.

4. What, if any, adjustments were needed once you began?

I needed to get an effective attention control, like a bell or a countdown. I thought those
were too childish for middle school, but it seems as though they most definitely needed it.

5. How effective was the assessment you chose to use?

I chose to do a pretest and post test type evaluation where I asked them questions
before and after the assignment. I thought it was quite effective.

6. What evidence do you have that the lesson was a success?

The students gave great presentations and my guiding teacher said that this was her
best year’s work on this assignment

7. How did the time you spent preparing your lesson contribute to your success?
Self-Evaluation of Lesson Taught

I didn’t spend a whole lot of time, but I spent time writing and practicing my presentation
so that it was clean when I did it live.

8. If you could do this lesson again with the same students, would you do anything
differently? If so, what?
I would want to have better attention grabbers. I wish that I would have had that planned
out before I started teaching because they were getting a little unwieldy and I felt lost for a few
seconds.
