STUDENT BEHAVIOR (MAJORITY OF STUDENTS):

Except 1-2 students all students were actively engaged and participated throughout the
class activities.

In this lesson teacher was using student-centered method by having them involve
through some games and classwork activities. With the help of particular games, they
were more engaged and had fun. And the multiples game was also interesting.

__ Other: Apart from all these materials teachers used games which students can use
over and over. And also, teacher used awarded targets as motivating method.

Teacher came to class with a colorful basket full of some materials that she keeps using
during the lessons. Like number sticks cup is one of them. She picks a stick with a
number on it and she describes the number, then the student who has that number in
the class list is coming to board and solve the question.

Every student has his/her own task to accomplish. Each one was being involved
individually. But towards ending, teacher gave them worksheet as classwork. However,
they were asked to work on it individually, the ones who needed attention were paired
by the teacher to work on the questions together.

In this class students were a little bit playful. To prevent any distraction teacher played
2-3 minute videos about math but funny. Apart from this moment, students were able
to use everything necessary for the activities mentioned above.

Explain: mathematics classroom was well designed, it was attractive. And also teacher’s
way of welcoming and hosting the students was very nice. There was a student was
given a candy bar, and I later on understood that she gave that candy just because the
student came on time while he was always coming late to the class. Positive
reinforcement was adequate.
OVERALL COMMENTS AND REFLECTIONS:
The lesson I observed was a Math Lesson of Grade 7. The teacher was well prepared for any
type of student. There was a slow learner and I noticed that she gave a different worksheet to
that student. Furthermore, as I mentioned earlier there were 2 intelligent ones and they were
also given extra worksheet by the teacher. When the teacher felt any loose vibe in class she
either told a story or asked a question that has interesting answer or played some games with
students. Due to the age of the students it wasn’t easy to keep them engaged for long period of
time. Yet the teacher was trying hard. I observed that students left the class happily.
