Teaching Practice Task 2: Monitoring the Learning

Program link: This task is associated to the guidelines of the course EPR 3203 – Teaching Methods for
the Primary School Teacher (Course learning outcomes 4 – Plan and implement appropriate modes of
assessment for primary mathematics teaching and learning)

Objective: Describe how you monitored the learning when the students were working on their activities
and identify the tools used to record your data. For each lesson you teach, you will describe the tool that
you use to monitor the work of the children. In the second column, you will describe how you used that
tool and you will reflect on how useful it was.

1 Lesson 1  Notebook  At every start teaching practice I use this tool. I

2 Lesson 2  Checklist  At every lesson plan I use this tool, is used during
student work in the centres. After I explain them

plot to see if they understand the activity and give him
some advice to make better next time.

3 Lesson 3  Rubric  I used this tool with checklist is used to evaluate
the performance of students in class, I put point
make picture or any shape near the name of students through
graph criteria located in the rubric with comment. After
13 March 2019 I explain them the activity I walk around, and I
see the students work in the centre.
 successful to use this tool because help me to
know the student’s which level and if the student
able to move to next level or not.
4 Lesson 4  Exit ticket  At every lesson plan I use this tool at the end of
each lesson I do. I have exit ticket (small paper

and Data the lesson, every student will get one and solved,

to 1000 they will put in the box and leave the class
quietly.

5 Lesson 5  Names Sticks  I used this tool during the lesson it is names

6 Lesson 6  Smart boards  I used smart board in the beginning of the lesson
